Sunday long run up Pacifico mountain. PCT south from Mill Creek to Fountainhead spring then off trail back over the summit with a nap up top. The higher, eastern San Gabriel mountains still have lots of snow, but it’s getting hot and the sun feels intense again.
What’s fun about this route is it traverses 4 mountains (3 of them twice if you go out and back).
Wright (8,500 feet), Pine (9,648 feet), Dawson (9,575 feet), then Baldy (10,064 feet). Bonus: Baldy, Pine, and Dawson are the three tallest in the range in order.
From where you begin descending the first until you summit the last it basically goes straight down and up each mountain 🤣 It’s a lot of fun, really satisfying, and great views.
