Inflation in the eurozone fell more sharply than expected to 2.9% in October, according to the EU's statistics office.

With the Christmas shopping period just weeks away, Eurostat announced Tuesday that consumer prices in the euro area had reached their lowest level in more than two years, down from 4.3% in September.

The main cause was the double-digit drop in fuel prices which eased by 11.1%.

I keep reading that 150 million people in EU countries live in “border regions”

But you seldom read how “border regions" is defined. Now I think I have my answer - this map, from this PDF https://archiv.dolomitilive.eu/assets/EVTZ_und_CLLD_in_der_Europaregion/4_Economic_impact_of_border_regions.pdf

And... it doesn't make much sense. In that it's using governmental regions (looks like it's NUTS 3). And as a result how far that stretches from a border varies widely

DToher,

@jon nicely adding in NI into the EU border regions.
NUTS3 is the smallest administrative boundary that the EU works on, is this a definite case for asking for a NUTS4 class from @EU_Eurostat ?

The average hours worked per week in Europe vary widely. Countries with higher part-time workers, in particular, reported shorter average workweeks.

New data from Eurostat, the EU’s official statistics office, shows that the average working hours across Europe vary widely from country to country.

Which countries work the longest and shortest weeks?
