10.6.6 crashes while trying to update my libraries from 10.6.5. On two different Macs.

Great, professional-grade software.

peeps, how would you somehow mark or make a list of clips on the timeline that have some sort of transform (scale), stabilization and/or a specific effect applied?

I have to do a conform in Resolve from graded clips and would like to save some time, not having to check each clip for these adjustments.

More joys of

Out of 367 clips in this timeline (that we have to transfer from Premiere to using SendtoX), 40 files randomly do not relink. Checksums match, no weirdness in file paths.

And that's where you just stop. Nothing you can do 🤷

I’m at the phase of my edit where the 40 minute timeline is mostly in place, I’m tightening edits, adding and tweaking audio crossfades, and finishing up titles. My 5K iMac really starts to struggle here. Every action feels sluggish. Excited for better waveform drawing in announced FCP 10.7, but that’s for Apple Silicon. I need a new desktop computer.

My work would be impossible without Intelligent Assistance's Sync&Link X. Kinda sad relies upon 3rd parties for "pro" features such as batch multicam sync and AAF export, on the other hand FCPX cost me $299 in 2012 and that's it.

I’ve had to deliver two spots I cut with for sound mix. Used to deliver the AAF.

In every instance, if I leave a single attribute on my audio tracks the resulting AAF is out of sync. I’m talking effects, panning, even volume.

I don’t know if this is a bug with Final Cut or with X2Pro or what, but to have to disable everything seems odd. Granted most of that stuff isn’t going to translate anyways, but even volume levels? That seems… wrong.

A very welcome small change in that @latenite will tell me was there all along :))

When you select a keyword in the Browser and add a clip from it to the timeline, when you then matchframe back to it, it will not switch the Browser view to the topmost level (the entire event) but it stays in the keyword. It was extremely annoying to me when it did that.

I'm not sure if this is new in 10.7, I've only noticed this now.

peeps, how is this new? It's always been there, hasn't it? What am I missing?

for iPad is for creators, not for editors. Take that as you will.

always ignores first drag-n-drop. I always have to do it twice to work. As with many of my bugs, it's been there for years.

sucks with batch exports. If I, say, want to export all timelines from a project without music, I have to manually disable the Music role in each of these (I checked - the export window even tells you to do so, even for Master). That gets very tedious.

Maybe something CommandPost could fix, @latenite?

What the actual fuck is this? The repeated glitch sound is NOT in the file itself. 10.7. No effect applied. Plain WAV.

Edit: apparently QuickLook doesn't play all audio tracks, so it didn't present this issue. The problem actually IS in the recording, probably failing batteries in a wireless mic.

Leaving this here as this might be a valuable information for someone.

Jesus Christ, STILL cannot read timecode from some Sony cameras. Premiere sees it without any issue.

and for iPad, now with extra flavor of "no, you can't use both your devices for the project, even if the apps are called the same on both platforms".

This dialogue needs "Replace and inherit attributes" (or, "Replace source but keep attributes"). I need that all the fucking time, when you already have applied effects, transforms and other stuff to a clip but need to swap the source clip.

I have sent that enhancement request to Apple a couple of times and just did again.

Another project, more random proxies randomly disconnecting. All of them are present on the drive and can be relinked, but just decides to drop the link. No shenanigans, ProRes footage, proxies made in FCPX on a M1 Mac.

Here's something I'm still getting used to on my 16” 2023 MacBook Pro; the completely insane battery life. I imported, edited, and exported a 4K video over three hours and seventeen minutes long in #FinalCutPro, and exported it on battery power, and it used about 21% of my battery. Doing this on my 2019 MBP would have crushed the battery to zero about half-way through the export. #FCP #FCPX #MPB

Any idea why a preset with "up to 1280x720" outputs a 960x540 video? The timeline (Project) is 1080p

Super bizarre bug that meant QC failure.

Duplicate frames every second. But why? Both source and project are 25 fps (EU) and speed is at 100%. All clips synced with Sync-n-Link, all 100% the same way, yet this happened only in this one scene.

Never seen anything like this.

SAVE TONS OF TIME EDITING

Clipboard buffers in for is incredibly useful, It lets you copy and paste multiple things - this goes into buffer 1, that into buffer 2, that into buffer 10, and you can paste any of these independently. Incredibly useful for things like adding recurring elements into shows. A HUGE time saver.
