In South Korea, and yesterday took a tour of the 416 Institute of Democratic Citizenship Education. The institute commemorates the 2014 sinking of the Ferry that claimed the lives of hundreds of students from Danwon High School in Ansan.

The Institute includes the Danwon High School 4.16 Memory Classroom, which is made up of the original classrooms of the students that has been moved and rebuilt exactly as they were in the museum. The tour was led by mother’s of the students who lost their children. They talked about their children, the lack of regulations that allowed the Sewol to sink, and the fights to establish these Memory Classrooms.
