Well I wasted all summer, and didn't get my #VW#Squareback running so I have to drag it up into my garage to keep the rain from getting in it this winter.
Trouble is there's nothing to hook a comealong to in my garage. So I bought a D-ring from HarborFreight and rented a hammer drill and masonry bits from the tool lending library tonight.
Hopefully the anchor bolts will hold and I can get it winched up my driveway.
I got my new fuel pump relay for my #vw#squareback, now I just have to find the wires that some monkey cut off to bypass the old one. The diagram shows wires running to the pump, ECU, voltage regulator, and auxiliary air valve. I think I know where all those are, and I have a test light so I can tell if they have voltage.
Still haven't put the new fuel pump on the #Squareback yet. I figured out what that weird patch wire was for, it's a bypass. There's probably a short somewhere in the original #wiring loom and instead of fixing it they drilled a hole in the firewall and ran a new wire directly to the fuel pump. There's even a twist at the fuse block for a cutoff switch. 🙄 #vw#electrical#automotive#aircooled#aircooledvw#type3
