I feel you. Even before I became a staff/principal engineer, I found this industry only enjoyable and effective when you're not afraid to take on different hats. I can't imagine doing just one of these.
Obligatory "I'm still here but barely" post - between job-changing (yes, leaving #Thoughtworks after 12 years!) and parenting, I haven't had the time for much social media.
I'm also finding that a lot of my social stuff has moved to #slack or #discord - not sure if this is a wider change or just my circles?
I used to be a technical recruiter, so it was a joy to narrate "Staff Engineer: Leadership Beyond the Management Track" by @lethain with a foreword by @whereistanya. It has great advice for senior software engineers who want to advance on a technical track without becoming an engineering manager.
