Banning social media is not good and it’s something China would do. What we need is better education. If people want to give up all their data then let them do it, but they need to be informed about it.
I understand the concerns, but why the fuck didn’t any American company take the opportunity to make a good competitor? Instead we get Elon and fucking X which is full enshittification. Now, instead of competition in the “free market” we get the government telling a Chinese company they need to sell or be banned. Fuck the Chinese government, but also fuck the American government for telling a Chinese company to sell to non-Chinese buyers. America is failing, we need education and competition, not bans.
The boldest claim to make when it comes to the existence of a “god” is that we don’t know. No one fucking knows. One thing I do know is that the fundamentals of physics are beautiful no matter how it came to be. People hate not being able to explain things so they made shit up as they went, such that the idea of “god” was created.
This is yet another massive sign of an oncoming recession in the next 6-12 months. Inverted yield curve, more part time jobs, layoffs, commercial real estate collapse, etc.
That adds another one to the list. Unfortunately I don’t see a way we avoid a recession into 2025. It’s basically inevitable at this point given the conditions.
Aldi is great. Walmart has been robbing small towns in America without competition for long enough. I hope more Americans shop at Aldi and save more money while getting healthier food at a fair price.
So I made a comment on worldnews criticizing Chinese activity in the south china sea and apparently got banned for it by the automod. This happen to anyone else? Is this Lemmy’s version of the need help post and the shape of things to come?...
Read about proof of stake. There doesn’t need to be one single blockchain. Many blockchains can run in tandem to handle massive amounts of transactions.
They shouldn't ban TikTok in America

Fuck Trump, he didn’t even show up to the Republican primary debates. If Biden debates him it’ll just give Trump more speaking time and publicity.
