Yeah, it’s fuckin wild too, I personally feel that more people should know about Elan, but it’s sort of so insane that people just kind of mentally punch out immediately if you try to tell them about it because they don’t believe something so awful could even happen as the author of the comic mentions. Absolutely fucked…
This reminds me of a very extensive story I read about a truly awful for-profit facility called the Élan School. It was a long and harrowing read and it was pretty much too fucked up to be fake.
That was probably way worse than what’s going on here, but reading about Elan made me realize that “wow there need to be a LOT of super strict checks on what we let people do with our children”
I always wonder why games do this, it was especially egregrious in FO4.
“Oh look a door [LOCKED - IMPERVIOUS TO ALL CONVENTIONAL METHODS OF DESTRUCTION]” “Oh look a terminal next to the door” “Oh look it’s not even locked and the only option is [OPEN DOOR?]”
Like, why? To what end? For what reason? Why does this lock exist? I would not ordain to grant it the rank of “obstacle”.
Contractors curious about an extension cord on the roof of a Michigan grocery store made a startling discovery: A 34-year-old woman was living inside the business sign, with enough space for a computer, printer and coffee maker, police said.
“She was homeless,” Officer Brennon Warren of the Midland Police Department said Thursday
