Zounds. I make one post linking to a white American man who reposts it and I get more notifications in an hour than I have ever got for anything I've posted on Mastodon ever.
This is why I don't feel at home in this space btw. My fannish experience online is already skewed Global North. On twitter I had Indian and Global South dominating my interactions. Until I can find that again, I continue to feel like an unwilling immigrant.

I was looking at wheat straw dinnerware, the newest thing of the eco-friendly plastic-like stuff.
If you research it though, you'll find out that anything that is meant to last longer than one use has some amount of petrocarbon plastic in it.

I just want you all to know that on the first night I sat down to a dinner of rock hard chola because I forgot that I had soaked but not cooked them when I made the tari.

A larger philosophical discussion around it is complicated and deserves nuance. Consent obtained under false premise can cover anything from lying about one's caste, to lying about having worn a condom before penetration. Lack of informed consent deserves nuance and rape laws are slowly recognising that. But its a complicated discussion for feminists, let alone moribund courts.

The Telangana police filed a closure report in court claiming that Rohith Vemula was not a Dalit and killed himself out of fear of discovery. This is such an obscene lie that it deserves international attention.

It's not new - liberal Zionists have been two-sidesing their mutual peace bullshit for decades - but it is imperitive to not let them move the Overton window of acceptable solidarity towards quiet colonialism instead of active genocide. Solidarity starts with demanding dismantling the coloniser.

@adnan oh mine is alive and I still regularly use it to catch up on all the India and Africa news I don't get anywhere else. But it feels wrong to not reply to friends going through stuff and then show up just to tell a company they suck
