BigTrout75,

Carmack was a genius for his time. I’m not sure about him today. The only time I hear about him anymore is with odd IT political fights.

BigTrout75,

Moved to the burbs a couple of years ago. Every spring we have (aggressive) salesmen knocking on our door trying to spray around our house for bugs.

BigTrout75,

Article for the sake of having an article.

BigTrout75,

Windows 11 comes in many flavors. But mostly Enterprise and consumer (Home, and Pro). If you have Enterprise your company pays a subscription for the ability to control and mostly to turn off most of the bullshit telemetry and ads. Consumer versions are pretty much just ad supported OSs. Yep, even if you paid for it. Ads are everywhere.

BigTrout75,

Didn’t know that, do you know of a link to where I can buy a license?

BigTrout75,

There’s so many things that are ads it’s impossible to keep track. I usually use this software to modify all the crap in Windows. www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10

BigTrout75,

I like to imagine somebody in a call center remotely driving your car.

BigTrout75,

Cottage cheese. Store brand has a bunch of additives and odd things in it.

Additives and preservatives are usually my decision maker. Yuka app is pretty handy.

BigTrout75,

Don’t they know drifting is for Mario Kart? Silly kids.

BigTrout75,

It seems pretty low key and not a big Nike ad with a bunch of lame talking heads. Fun and entertaining.

BigTrout75,

That what I’m taking about! Just having fun! For money of course

BigTrout75,

When all the innovations are just ads and telemetry, shit is going to slow down.

BigTrout75,

Pretty good! I’m liking kde. It’s very user friendly and you didn’t have to tweak the crap out of it.

Railroad agrees to $600 million settlement for fiery Ohio derailment, residents fear it’s not enough (www.opb.org)

BigTrout75,

Standard stuff every company does after a acquisition. Plus Microsoft just want you to subscribe to it’s game service. I’m not sure this is for everyone.

BigTrout75,

Isn’t a bully just a baby bird trying to push another bird out of the nest?

BigTrout75,

Nostalgia is part of retrogaming. It’s not required but it help keep interest in a game.

You might want to try different systems and types of retro games. SNES is good but a lot prefer Sega Genesis, TG16, NES even Atari can be interesting. They all have different games. Also MAME is fun for arcade games.

I find that I play sometimes only play new games for months. Indie games is where it’s at for me. Donut DoDo on Steam comes to mind. And if you like that game try some that inspired it.

At the end of the day, just fun.
