The use of sea-based wind-farms as a power source, the use of CO2-capture plants to create the feedstocks for industry, and, the use of the captured CO2 to make hydrocarbons, would operate effectively as a complete and profitable business that would fit in with the Scottish Green Party's plans. :D
@BillySmith@simon_brooke Problem is CO2 capture is very energy intensive and hasn't really been run at anywhere near big enough scale. One of the most energy efficient, if you're going to burn fossil fuels is to use the emitted gasses to 'enrich' the atmosphere in poly-tunnels full of growing crops. The plants photosynthesize more energetically so grow quicker but it doesn't really solve the basic problem.
