I've been trying to wrap my head around Taoism.

One of the exercises i am using is to cast a Hexagram each morning, and use that as a frame-of-reference for everything that takes place that day. :D

There are 5 problems in any organisation:

  • To Innovate;
  • To Manage;
  • To Maintain;
  • To Defend;
  • Succession.

  • Without Innovation, there isn't anything to work with.

  • Without Managing, the Innovation becomes something to argue about.

  • Without Maintenance, entropy destroys what we build.

  • Without Defences, both internal and external, then bad actors take over.

  • Without Succession, what you build dies with you.

Solve these problems and you can create solutions that will last for centuries. :D
