  • CFoix,

@idoubtit Inagine beingvte Virginia, Dare of the Moon, or Mars. How wretched life without life on earth, must be.

Has anyone performed a social gistory, of how popular interest in soace DECLINED? And how rhis was caused by the Apollo footage, and other demystifications of our solar system? People dreamed of Martoan canals and Venusian swamps...

@idoubtit No different to daily life, who acts exactly the same, way, to all people, all the time? Its all just mirrors, as the Japanese have it.

@idoubtit Appeal to emotion works in TV and print advertising, only because they are fortunate enough, to push only simplistic ideas and images

  • CFoix,

@idoubtit That stuff about enchantment applies, I think, to the USA moreso than the UK. It certainly doesn't apply to the era when people like Scott and Rines were searching for Nessie.

  • CFoix,

@idoubtit Cooper does start, “I’m understanding that there are cases of transgender, but..." - is this really intolerant?

Its someone with limited background knowledge beyond contradictory claims in the media, trying to be fair.

Skepticism surrounds claims, of a room temperture superconductor. Looks like what is called 'cargo cult science' from here

  • CFoix,

@idoubtit That generations shit is the sort of media friendly, pop sci crap you normally debunk, and you know it.

Generaruons theory starred as an observation that culture changing events, like WW1 and the Great Depression, affect people most in their formative years.

Yanks turned the concept into pseudoscience..

@idoubtit @ambulocetus No strange primate DNA in the Nearctic air, then?

    CFoix,

@idoubtit @ambulocetus Or, may be somewhere large mammal etc discoveries are far from improbable. Vu Quang or New Guinea, maybe. Or looking for thylacines on Tasmania, even.

Di you never look at Amazonia, or New Guinea, and think: there should be more big animal species there?
