Chainweasel,

I mean, isn’t De-dollarization the entire point of creating a new currency as an alternative to the US dollar?

Chainweasel,

I don’t know how much longer I can stand living in an era where everything is politicized.
For Christ’s sake even killing puppies is political alignment issue now.

Edit, this appears to have posted twice due to my bad internet so please disregard my other reply.

Chainweasel,

Then, endorsed him for president.
Is he really dumb enough to not realize he’s going to be on the list if Trump gets re-elected?

Politicians and dog experts vilify South Dakota governor after she writes about killing her dog (apnews.com)

Politicians and dog experts are criticizing South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem after she wrote in a new book about killing a rambunctious puppy. The story — and the vilification she received on social media — has some wondering whether she’s still a viable potential running mate for presumptive Republican presidential candidate...

The dog thing was horrible, But she also shot and killed a goat because it smelled.
Why did the goat smell?
Because she didn’t get it castrated.
She pretends to be a farmer with stories about killing dogs that can’t hunt and goats that smell weird, But an actual farmer would have had the goat castrated if they weren’t planning on breeding it and they absolutely would have just retrained the dog.

Chainweasel,

I’m hoping with ultimate power, Biden makes the ultimately right decision.

Democrats, unfortunately, have an annoying tendency to cling to honor while the walls are being torn down around them.
Biden will absolutely “do the right thing” from the honorable point of view and just roll with the election results, and peacefully hand power to Trump if he wins.

Chainweasel,

I’m going to laugh my ass off when Bobby Jr gets more votes than Trump and the Republicans become a 3rd party

Chainweasel,

Will def have to if he isn’t receptive.

The issue here is you could get yourself in trouble with HR if he takes it the wrong way. Tell HR first and let them handle it.

Chainweasel,

Then you fucking tell HR.
Rinse and repeat as needed until it stops being a problem.

Chainweasel,

That’s definitely a needle valve for a carburetor.

Chainweasel,

Yes, most used micro plastics for a long time, charcoal and coffee grounds are a fairly new advent in the last few years.

Chainweasel,

Removing the requirements for a lawyer to review his tweets would immediately result in him getting hit even harder by the SEC because he has an inability to keep his cock holster shut.
He wouldn’t be able to help himself and he would immediately start fucking with Tesla stock again, landing him in legal trouble.
If it wasn’t likely to ruin the lives of Tesla shareholders by making the stock unstable I would say let him do it.

Chainweasel,

Which is exactly why Musk is agitating to get the lawyer requirement dropped.
The whole reason why he got in that situation in the first place is because he was running his mouth about having enough money to take Tesla private, he didn’t, But the stock value went through the roof anyway.

Chainweasel,

And if Trump wins, we’ll never have to worry about anyone ever running again.
But that’ll be the least of our problems

Chainweasel,

While “next” is technically correct, it’ll be far worse than Covid was/is.
Covid was our practice round and we failed.
Not only is Bird Flu orders of magnitude more deadly than Covid, people are so thoroughly sick of pandemic protocols that we’ll never get the kind of mask adoption we saw during Covid and even that was abysmal.
Employers will never allow people to work from home again if they can help it, they’re still Fighting to claw the rest back now.

This will likely be our last pandemic.

Based on a true story (lemmy.world)

My OS is on a 512gb M.2 drive, but the main storage on my laptop was a 1TB HDD, it started making noise about 2 weeks ago so I backed everything up onto a 1TB SanDisk USB SSD. This afternoon it got very clicky when I booted it up after work and icons for a few games I had stored on it, like KSP and YUZU, disappeared from the...

Chainweasel,

I was not fucking around 😂.
It started to sound like someone put a baseball card on a bike wheel and I had it packed full of mostly TV shows and moves I didn’t want to download again lol.

Chainweasel,

True, it’s definitely in the plans to get a NAS with a RAID setup and it may be expedited to nearer in the future than I thought lol

Chainweasel,

14 years? It can’t be 14 years because I was well out of high school and colle… Oh fuck I’m old.

I stuck with Windows for as long as I did because of the widespread compatibility and ease of use, and I still use Windows 10 on one laptop that I’ve been using for 4 years because I just don’t want to go through the pain of switching everything over when I’m likely to just upgrade the hardware before long anyway.
But I did switch over to Mint on my desktop and I’ve been shocked at how easy it was to switch. I haven’t ran into any insurmountable compatibility issues and flat hub makes everything a breeze.
I’m super happy with the frequent updates and The cinnamon user interface is very familiar and easy to adapt to.
That being said, I’ll never use a Windows operating system on a new machine or build ever again.
Windows 11 is just trash.
The UI changes alone left a bad taste in my mouth but you can undo most of them with a little bit of work, But you just shouldn’t have to.
Then with the addition to advertisements in the taskbar and start menu I’d had enough.
I’m over the top, just fucking DONE with being a commodity and I refuse to use any paid service that serves ads.
Yes, Windows comes with most machines but it’s not a free service.
And the option to stay on Windows 10 and continue receiving security updates on for a monthly fee is just short of extortion.
My personal tin foil hat theory is that they purposely made windows 11 trash so that people would support a subscription based Windows service with Windows 10.

It’s a HUGE gamble, if it goes up you could be millions in debt.
It seems obvious it would go down right?
But, there’s always the possibility that a foreign entity (Russia) launders money to him by buying up a shit ton of his stock and drives the price up.
That would ruin the lives of people trying to make money by shorting it.
I wouldn’t encourage anyone to gamble in this economy, but especially not on a con-man with connections to very rich foreign governments who have a vested interest in making sure he makes money.

Don’t ever take a phone to a protest. They WILL use location data against you if your phone is on, Even if it’s off and you happen to lose it, they’ll use the fact that it was found at the scene against you.
If You’re going to protest, then protest. If I see you standing around taking pictures and videos with your phone I’m going to assume you’re just in it for your Instagram posts.

Edit:
And if you’re not careful when taking videos or pictures at a protest you could expose other protesters and your footage could be used to prosecute people that were there trying to help.
If you absolutely INSIST on documenting the protests, procure a used GoPro off of eBay or Facebook marketplace that isn’t registered to you and use that.

Chainweasel,

Your SIM card just grants you access to any particular network, your phone can still be tracked off of its serial number or IMEI as other towers in the area, regardless of whether or not they are your carrier, will log the devices that pinged the tower.
This MIGHT be ok with a burner phone if you paid with cash, but they could still pull data from in store security systems of the purchase by tracking the phone to the point of sale with its IME, if they were sufficiently motivated.
It might work, But it’s a gamble I’m not willing to take.

Chainweasel,

Ah, the same appellate court that saved Trump’s assets from being seized with only 20 min to spare.
