I think DS3 is great in its own way and has some awesome areas, but it’s hard to compare anything to the first half of Dark Souls. That level design is just something else.
What I like about DS3 compared to ER is there are a lot less delayed attacks and fakeouts. I get that FromSoft needs to constantly up the challenge but it makes it harder to get the same kind of enjoyable combat flow, at least for me. DS3 has some bosses that are just so enjoyable, even though they’re not super hard.
Oh and, don’t know if you’ve done them yet but the DLCs should be more challenging than the main game, if that’s what you’re after.
Red Bull has revealed that Max Verstappen’s hopes of challenging Lando Norris for the race win in Formula 1’s Miami Grand Prix were derailed by floor damage.
It’s not like Max was flying before the damage either. He was pulling away a little, sure, but nothing like usual. It’s clear the McLaren was just really fast here, just look at the relative laptimes of both Piastri and Norris before Max’s supposed damage.
I’m more inclined to think Max’s pace was lacking due to setup problems. It has happened before for Redbull, in particular on sprints. We’ll see in Imola just how well the new McLaren upgrades work. I suspect we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled programming, but I hope I’m wrong.

I think OWB is many people’s favourite, and Honest Hearts is certainly the weakest DLC. It does have some cool lore and story bits to it though, and the environmental storytelling with the survivalist is very neat. And I think Joshua Graham is a great character.
I hope you come back and do Lonesome Road too, I absolutely love it and think the level design and environments are outstanding.
Having the exact same experience, though I’ve only barely started the PL storyline. The rebalance and revamped perk tree has created so many cool builds and so many fun ways to play. The game is just a joy to play honestly.
Might not end up making Sony any money, but I’m sure an executive is getting a well-deserved bonus off the back of that nice-looking bump in PSN account numbers.
I’m so excited for this game. I thought the first game was really interesting and did really well with a limited budget, and really showed a lot of potential.
Hopefully a bigger budget, bigger scope and expanded combat can have this game really blossom.
Max LOL-ing after fucking up his lap and still getting pole, Yuki out because VCARB only sent him out once in O2, Norris time on the mediums being the fastest of the whole session, the softs being awful and catching everyone by surprise after nobody touched them in FP, Stroll above Alonso, Sergeant outqualifying Albon (with some track limits assistance)…
As most of you know, HL3 is pretty much the most popular “vaporware” game out there. Something always rumored and in development, but never heard again after a certain point....
This is the correct answer I think. They’re also not interested in releasing sub-par games, and again like you say they don’t need to release games at all to make money anymore. So if they’re not that interested and haven’t come up with anything conceptually/mechanically that reaches the high bar they’ve set for themselves, it makes more sense to scrap/postpone.
Their reputation is much more important, and they’re just not going to half-ass Half Life 3. It will come out when they feel they have something truly extraordinary, or it won’t come out at all.
Don’t know if you’re interested anymore but there are a ton of mods out there that fix the stability issues, including a partial engine rewrite last year.
I haven’t played since it released, but Stewie is basically a god of New Vegas modding and I doubt it would cause any issues.
Your GPU might or might not make a difference, most of the issues with performance are poor optimization and engine-level issues (that Stewie seem to have addressed). There are several more stability mods out there like Tick Fix and Heap Replacer that help, plus the 4GB patch for the executable of course.
The Viva New Vegas modding guide is a good place to look for more info, even if all you do is stick to the performance improvement stuff.
I mean, Epic published it and funded its development. It’s not Remedy insisting so much as sticking to the terms of the contract that gave them the budget to make the game in the first place.
I agree that it sucks, though. At least they seem to be shopping around a bit when it comes to Control 2, so let’s hope they don’t end up with Epic again for that one.
Hey whatcha all been playing! I finally finished Alan wake 2 after a long hiatus. Maybe a tad too long but damn what a game. Cannot wait for Control 2 and whatever else Remedy has cooking
Started playing Phantom Liberty today after having finally finalized my modlist. Still hunting down the source of some crashing, but still.
Haven’t played Cyberpunk since 1.63, and I am loving the changes so far. Very cool builds available with the perk tree changes, I can already tell I will probably do another full playthrough with a different build once I’ve ran through Phantom Liberty. Right now I’m playing a Tech/Body/Reflexes spec going full into explosives, combined with Sandevistan, Kerenzikov and all the dashing/mid-air stuff. It’s definitely a lot of fun, bouncing around the battlefield like a Gummi Bear on speed while everyone around you explodes and burns.
Say what you want about him, but he seems like a very skilled businessman. He’ll end up with controlling ownership of an F1 team essentially for free here.
My roommate told me that as they went into an urban forest, they saw (or heard) a crow picking pieces of flesh off a still living and screaming rabbit until the rabbit eventually died....
Crows are omnivores, so would have no qualms about eating meat, although it’s not the main constituent of their diet. They are very intelligent and opportunistic and I’m pretty sure I’ve heard of crows hunting smaller birds and animals (most likely during circumstances where other food sources are scarce).
Yeah this is the likely outcome. Happens all the time, tons of great old Cyberpunk mods broke with 2.0 and will probably never get updated for example.
I’ve watched some here and there, but having to try to catch them when they stream has put me too much in the mind of old tv and catching shows when they air. Watching the recording afterward is maybe good for some white noise, but it’s clearly not the intended experience I think.
I think this is a pretty good summary overall. I’d like to supplement some things:
Category 1 viewers also contain people who want to vicariously live through someone else and experience their favourite game again for the first time. They tend to stick around only for a specific game, and will move on after the playthrough is over.
Category 2 also contains viewers who watch the streams as a pure entertainment product, more akin to watching a comedian. They’re mostly interested in the banter the streamer provides. Many viewers of Northernlion and Jerma fit this description.
What kinds of games might you recommend with deep worldbuilding and interaction that aren't RPGs?
I like worldbuilding and stories, and I like when they're mixed with the interactivity of games, so RPGs seem like they should be a natural fit. Problem is, I dislike the stat-heavy, grindy progression of many RPGs.
I enjoy point & click adventures and visual novels but they're often more limited in their interactions. What kinds of game might I be missing combining the two?
