CrayonRosary,

A modicum? It sounds like you have absolutely no idea what addiction is like.

CrayonRosary,

I vape my flower and charge the vaporizer with solar power.

CrayonRosary,

That’s how Jesus died, which is what his pose is referencing.

Google Search’s “udm=14” trick lets you kill AI search for good | Ars Technica (arstechnica.com)

Tack “&udm=14” on to the end of a normal search, and you’ll be booted into the clean 10 blue links interface. While Google might not let you set this as a default, if you have a way to automatically edit the Google search URL, you can create your own defaults.

CrayonRosary,

That’s how I felt last night. The level was dark and this asshole was zapping me from the shadows. I walked back through the door and held down the wait button to pass the turns until he came down to me, and ended up passing way too much time by accident. Then some other robot came around behind me, and I figure it was that one taking the long way around for some reason, so I walked back into the door and got zapped in the face again. This all happened within seconds and I yelled out loud!

I finally stopped time to go see what was up…

I guess robots blasting out giant bolts of electricity doesn’t wake up skeletons.

I was speaking figuratively, not within the rules of the game.

And yes, that’s all excellent advice. That’s how I deal with a lot of ranged enemies, but most of our battles start with me opening a door, getting face-blasted, then closing the door and holding down the wait button. Then as soon as they open the door, they’re in melee range where they are easy prey; especially with the sneak attack.

It usually costs just a few turns, but this time it didn’t go as planned, and turned out to be a whole comedy of misunderstanding. 😂

CrayonRosary,

You can’t spin it more than 3 times.

Like the other person said, you get a few turns before the spinning wears off, so you can spin up while an Evil Eye is charging his laser while you’re behind a corner, and even if he takes an extra turn or two to actually fire it, you’ll be OK and can still smack him in the eye for a ton of damage. If you need even more turns for some reason, you can spin once, wait a couple turns, spin again, etc. Each spin resets the timer.

It’s one of my favorite duelist abilities. The guaranteed hit is what makes the Flail usable. It’s too inaccurate otherwise and can’t surprise attack. I often augment the Flail for damage and only use it to kill solo enemies. At a high upgrade level it will one-shot everything in the game. I often pretend I’m sneak attacking by waiting behind a door. There’s no point in doing that, but it makes me chuckle.

CrayonRosary,

Nice! I had Scimitar with Speed augmented Stone Gauntlets. It was hilariously good. I could hit 6 times in one turn and then finish then off with Combo if needed, which was rare.

CrayonRosary,

I like doing that, too, but it can get tedious.

Fun fact: you only have to buff the first zap of a Wand of Warding, then you can zap the ward with normal zaps to upgrade it. It’ll be a powerful ward, assuming you have enough charges to level it up significantly.

CrayonRosary,

You can’t prove a universal negative.

You can prove specific negatives by providing counter evidence. Thing like “I am not a woman” by proving “I am a man”.

CrayonRosary,

Personal cooling suits need to be common, cheap, and socially accepted. Wear a backpack or tether yourself to a little cart. You just need a battery, an evaporative cooler, some water, and some tubes going through the suit in key places in order to keep your core temperature under control. Oh, and a little solar panel. 😄

Also, normalize parasols again. Why did they ever go out of fashion? Why does fashion concern itself with such things? Fuck judgemental people who look funny at people trying to protect themselves from the sun.

CrayonRosary,

Veritassium ignores a bunch of stuff in that video and hand-waves it away.

I only hear about his videos from other, better channels that correct his mistakes. He’s dead to me ever since that “faster than light” electricity video where he didn’t once use the word induction and made it sound super mystical. Fuck that guy with a thousand meters of wire.

Here’s the video I saw on it. Anyone watching the Veritassium video should watch this after:

youtu.be/8Ks680LaL-Q

Or better yet, find a different video on the relativistic movement of electrons and electron holes in wires, and how it causes magnetism. I don’t have one handy.

It’s a really bad sign when half of his videos need corrections by other channels. Sure, you could say they’re just riding on his popularity, but the fact that he needs corrections is the problem.

Because math. Also, it’s the average density.

It’s probably some obvious volumetric thing, like how the volume of a sphere increases exponentially when you increase the radius. V = 4/3 πr³. It seems the mass is some radius analogue in whatever equation governs black holes.

It’s also interesting to note that the surface area of a black hole’s event horizon is proportional to how much inormation the black hole contains. This was discussed in a recent PBS Spacetime Video.

The thing is, you have to first create the black hole with the mass of the universe in order to be so large that it has the same average density as air, right? Maybe I’m totally wrong and need to watch the video.

CrayonRosary,

Wegmans Ethiopian beans. Under $0.80 an ounce and delicious as iced coffee!

It means the transistors and things are each 2 nm, not the whole chip. Just in case you were confused about that.

Smaller chips requires less power to run.

CrayonRosary,

records everything you’ve done

It records the past!? Holy shit! That’s amazing!

How is this not bigger news? How does it do it?

CrayonRosary,

The word your looking for is “linguist”, a person who studies language. Linguistics is the study of language.

It works now. It definitely didn’t before when using Sync for Lemmy. That kind of mistake wouldn’t have worked on the reddit website either. I had seen it a million times. Not sure if the Lemmy web site would handle it right.

Both versions work on my end.

I’m surprised to hear that.

Markdown libraries normally see the closing parenthesis in the URL as the end of the link markdown syntax of [text](link). You had [text](link(stuff)) which is parsed as [text](link(stuff) A smarter markdown parser could handle it, so whatever app you were using might do that.

CrayonRosary,

I have no idea. Maybe someone with a larger neural network than mine can figure it out.

CrayonRosary,

I finally got to do a run with Round Shield. It’s exactly as good as I thought it would be. It’s so strong! I was blocking shots from two scorpions, an eye, and a jumping ripper all at once, and just moseying my way around for 16 turns, or whatever. It’s so satisfying to hear the clanging!
