Entertainmeonly,

That old e30(?) Is a badass car. Yes BMW are generally wankers, but don’t hate the Chariot.

Pronouns and tribal affiliations are now forbidden in South Dakota public university employee emails (apnews.com)

A new South Dakota policy to stop the use of gender pronouns by public university faculty and staff in official correspondence is also keeping Native American employees from listing their tribal affiliations in a state with a long and violent history of conflict with tribes....

Entertainmeonly,

I love this. It screams “Why use lot word when few word do trick.”

Entertainmeonly,

Reading this made me think of WWII. Turns out it’s from a Ukrainian poet. Sometimes, how quickly the past repeats itself is, well, startling.

Americans are choking on surging fast-food prices. "I can't justify the expense," one customer says (www.cbsnews.com)

Kevin Roberts remembers when he could get a bacon cheeseburger, fries and a drink from Five Guys for $10. But that was years ago. When the Virginia high school teacher recently visited the fast-food chain, the food alone without a beverage cost double that amount....

Entertainmeonly,

While I’ll admit it may not be as bad as most fast food, calling it “healthy” is a bit of a stretch. The average 6inch sub has about the same range of calories as a burger from most chains. The meat is still processed and the rest of the nutrients are basically a big mac.

6inch Ultimate BMT from subway has 560 calories, 42gr of fat, 75mg of cholesterol and 1570mg of sodium.

BigMac has 590 calories, 46gr of fat, 85mg of cholesterol and 1050mg of sodium.

I will give you that you can order a salad and if you are being really conscious you can get a more healthy meal. The fact remains the average standard order is pretty equivalent.

Entertainmeonly,

A link is great but xitter doesn’t let anyone without an account even look at content from their page anymore. Is there an alternate place to see these?

Entertainmeonly,

Ya, you know, free-market and all that. Exactly what they have been borking up a tree about for decades now.

/s for those that need it.

What animated film or tv show is this? (i.imgur.com)

For me the first thing that comes to mind is Tales from Earthsea. I don’t think it’s excellent or anything and has plenty of problems but people act like it killed their dog. While it has its problems that have been covered extensively, I think it has a beautiful atmosphere and art....

Entertainmeonly,

For me, Titan AE was the first Mandela effect. I clearly remember teaser trailers years before its release with a totally different art style. It looked like really good anime. Then once it dropped it was this weird amalgamation of Disney’s Pocahontas and Fox The Simpsons. Still feels like a fever dream.

Can someone explain why words are repeated so often in modern memes?

Example A; Me on the on the purge.

Why is “on the” repeated?

Entertainmeonly,

Ok, so I’m getting old but love this silly meme. Can anyone help me with some context so I know when and where to properly deploy this beaut?

Wait, I thought the heat death of the universe ment it all got so hot nothing survived… Does it literally mean heat will die and it’s going to be cold?

Entertainmeonly,

Am I the only person that was underwhelmed by this album?

How do you handle your passwords?

I rely on Bitwarden (slooowly migrating from… a spreadsheet…) and am thinking of keeping a master backup to be SyncThing-synchronized across all my devices, but I’m not sure of how to secure the SyncThing-synchronized files’ local access if any one of my Windows or Android units got stolen and somehow cracked into or...

Entertainmeonly,

I don’t really understand why passwords are so hard. Take two words that have meaning to you. Two number sequences that are important. Then lastly decide on two symbols. That’s eight different passwords if you use one of each in that order, more if you want to mix the order. Now set rules to each. One word for personal one for business. One number set for fun the other for essential. The symbols are rather arbitrary but I try and stick with one for passwords I’m forced to make the other for passwords and logins I’m wanting to make. Obviously make unique passwords for any important stuff like baking and such but with this method I can log into accounts over ten years old within the first two tries. Usually it’s the user name or tag that gives me the real trouble.
