Didn’t Trump initiate the pull out, and left Biden to pick up the crap?

UK here, Afghans that helped us should automatically get the right to live here. We have left some of these people to their fate at the hands of the Taliban. Whatever government ministers signed off on that ought to be swapped for the Afghans they left behind.

An utter disgrace.

Currently on the third of Harry Turtledove’s WorldWar series. It’s very good. Not too far fetched, excellent characters (some of them real) and very plausible plot lines. And because it’s set during WWII, there’s a lot of historical accuracy. Unpleasant though it may be.

Not sure if I’ve understood this correctly. Why would failed asylum seekers expect to stay here? Or indeed anywhere their application has failed.

Cue cries of ‘rascist’ and ‘nazi’, but I really am curious. If you’ve been denied asylum from somewhere, why would you expect to be allowed to stay there?

I wouldn’t be at all surprised (horrified, yes) to learn Iran has a nuke.

The same happened with North Korea.

Our years of inaction/policies have led to events that made all this possible. We have only ourselves to blame.

Then his constituents need to kick him out - he is there to serve them, not whatever deity he personally believes in. A good proportion of which will not believe in or worship the same deity.

Martin Freeman wasn’t a good Bilbo, would have been even worse as Frodo, and a disgrace as Arthur Dent. He was good in Fargo though. And plays a good Watson.

However Martin Sheen would have been magnificent. Watch him in Good Omens - Bilbo to a tea!
