This petition is part of the Stopkillinggames.com campaign led by Scott Ross (Accursed Farms), to end in Australia the practice of software licensors to render purchased software completely unusable at arbitrary points in time....
Yeah I thought timing was interesting since I haven’t been online in about a week when the other thing was posted and came back to this post. Btw it looks like SSSuper and Prime Super are the only ones on the list that seemed to actually be ethical.
A bold plan to spend $30 billion over ten years on wind, solar and storage and drag at least one of Australia’s big energy utilities into the promised green energy future has been formally laid to rest – a triumph, if that’s the word, of greed over climate concerns....
I like Yerba mate but places that stock it get it imported from overseas where it has to travel thousands of miles to get to the shop. I was wondering how well Yerba mate would grow in Australia.
I have heard some retired people will go on cruise ships because it is cheaper than retirement villages. They would also be more at risk if a outbreak happens though.
I can understand the appeal of growing numbers but I don’t think the risks outweigh the rewards. Unlimited growth is unsustainable anyway. We can exist without Meta. Meta is a poison pill that will eventually monopolize the fediverse if it has its way. This will not be the first time they killed off a decentralized platform.
With the cost of living crises combined with the housing shortage I think everyone saw this coming. Some people have full time jobs and live in tents because they cannot get a house. Anyone who is surprised by the baby shortage is most likely rich and never had to experience what the rest of the population goes through.
Same not only is corporate media filled with ads, there is no quality control. I installed an adblocker in june but it is good to have a place where I don’t need to use it in the first place.
My first complaint post! I know that the roads authority is watching this thread. It’s also a ‘On a bridge but not a bridge’ post. Two birds and all that. I saw someone drive up onto this last night and yeah pretty much title.
This has hit the news previously but rather than post an article, I thought it’d be better just to link straight to the source. Since they aren’t really “selling” anything, it passes my personal ethical standards for a link (if anyone has any thoughts, let me know)....
I did the boomer move, trying figure out how to use the fediverse and I made a account for each instance. I realize I didn’t need to do that and made one here. It’s nice to see things like Gardening, enviroment, city subs, etc ANY social media is a constant eye rape of American politics. Not my problem.
I just joined after already being on kbin social and lemmy world. It is nice to have an aussie instance. Also prefer the UI design here. (Edit I did not realise Lemmy updated.)
