We bought a car camping ticket the first year, which we thought would be a spot for a car and a tent. It was not, it was a gravel spot for just the car. While we were able to set the tent up, it was very very hot that weekend.
Regular tent camping spots are fine, in a nice grassy field, but your car is parked in a separate lot. Those aren’t deal breakers for me, but my wife and our friends preferred having creature comforts.
Not sure if most folks realize how accessible the spots are where a lot of these famous photos are taken from.https://lemmy.film/pictrs/image/22b08654-b636-4439-ae17-9c4a1ab26211.jpeg
I see there is a railing in the pic. When I visited less than a decade ago there was no safety rail, and nobody there to stop you from being an idiot. Plenty of people seemed to be taking advantage of this at the time.
Some were. Most of the musicians and vendors weren’t nudists, but a few did choose live by the creedo of “When in Rome…”. There were a few musicians who performed nude, or stripped down to their underwear. I did hear mumblings about state law and paid performers being nude on stage being an issue.
Yeah, the heat has been oppressive. I’m on the ocean with a sea-breeze, but could only manage to work from 6am until noon, and then again from about 7 until sunset.
Widespread protests have continued for days across France after police killed a 17-year-old in a Paris suburb when he refused to comply with a traffic stop, prompting a national reckoning on racism and excessive force in policing....
Sure, agreed. In this case however the criminal was refusing to be detained to be prosecuted, and was clearly willing to do anything to avoid it, trying to flee in his car.
As unfortunate as it was, this outcome is preferable to him crashing and killing an innocent victim while fleeing.
I sure a lot of us are working from home for a portion of our time. I'm home about 60% of the time these days. I'm in so many meetings it's a real pain to dress and undress if I want to enjoy some nude time....
I get yelled at by my wife multiple times a week “Do you have on pants?!”. She takes the occasional video call from the other end of the table (ahem, desk).

I might be part of a netflix documental talking about nudism in the nude and have some questions for you.
If you had the opportunity to appear naked in a netflix show talking about nudism, would you do it? and why?...

Weekend plans?
I’m doing some outdoor construction work, with as little clothing as possible. Then a backyard party at a friends house, sans clothing on Sunday.
What from reddit do you hope to never see on lemmy?
i can’t stand megathreads – no one reads these! no one wants their posts banished there!

A lot of people say fedditors but that sounds way too derivative of reddit
