LallyLuckFarm,

I agree with @ffmike, possibly Lygus lineolaris (through iNaturalist) as they seem to be one of the more common in North America.

Doing some quick reading they're sucking insects, not chewing. Any damage to plants will likely present as wilting or blackening around the site of the puncture and the remainder of the stem where the plant hasn't begun to attempt to seal off the damaged tissue. If you're not noticing damage on your plants, you could choose to continue monitoring the situation before taking any removal actions. If you notice a plant with a very large number of them it may be in your interest to spray with some mildly soapy water (Castile soap is our preference) before the plant takes too much of their attention.

LallyLuckFarm,

I'm just imagining small carrot cakes, each one made with one of these, with different pops of color. Awesome stuff

A Link to the Past is too hard?

I don't know if this is the right community for this, so I am sorry if it shouldn't go here. I am currently playing through a link to the past for the first time and have noticed a steep increase in difficulty once I unlocked the dark world. The dark palace was okay but I am honestly kinda stuck at the swamp palace. I would love...

LallyLuckFarm,

I love ALttP, but watching my wife on her first playthrough recently reminded me how frustrating it can be so my heart goes out to you. Heck, whenever I play again I put off swamp palace until nearly the end.

ALttP is also from that generation of games where you needed to talk to every NPC to figure out the hints and locations to sidequests and items. There are a number of bombable caves that you can access in either the light or dark worlds, as well as some that are accessible ones you're equipped with the gloves/mitts. Some others are accessible if you go to the dark world and get into position to transition back to the light world in a spot you couldn't reach from the light world alone, like getting to the Tower of Hera.

I think a nice middle ground for you might be the ALttPR tracker. It's made for the randomizer, but the chest locations are all the same (it's just their contents that get shuffled) so you'll have a visual representation of where items can be found but you can still work through getting to them on your own without spoilers.

LallyLuckFarm,

It's one of my all time favorites and I'd be stoked if I can help another person love this game as much as me. GLHF!

LallyLuckFarm,

Super awesome! Many salamanders return to the same pools to breed year after year, so you'll get to see some of these young ones coming back again and again

LallyLuckFarm,

That's my understanding as well, though my experience with them is limited

LallyLuckFarm,

🤤 love that garlic heat. We've got lots of hardnecks coming up on picking, some landrace variety of chives from our neighbor's great grandfather, and ramps (Allium tricoccum) but maybe I can convince the wife we need another allium.

Meyer lemon tree dying - help!

I have this Meyer lemon tree in a pot. The leaves are slowly but steadily falling off, and each little lemon turns completely black and falls off before it even grows to like a centimeter or two. What could I be doing wrong? I have a soil moisture meter and I only water it when the meter reads "dry". Could it be my grow light...

LallyLuckFarm,

The light looks underpowered for the plant's needs. Take a look here at the "lighting for indoor trees" section and compare those specs to the light you're using. I've seen a number of inexpensive "grow lights" that don't produce the necessary spectrum or lumens, so be sure to take note of the manufacturer specifications if you decide to replace your lights

LallyLuckFarm,

We recently donated dozens of plants for two fundraisers in our town - one supporting the town library, and the other supporting the town food pantry. They were both happening on the same morning, so we made sure to mention that to the organizers... There were SO. MANY. PEOPLE coming to the library stating that they heard about it from the food pantry plant sale, and we got a text from the FP organizers later saying how wonderful it was to have patrons coming saying they had heard about it at the library.

Our engagement with the food pantry also allowed us to have a conversation with them about informing their clients about a program Maine runs that allows SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) beneficiaries to receive additional assistance when buying food from farmer's markets. We're hopeful that these conversations will help to bring better nutrition to our neighbors that are struggling, increase support for our local growers, and reduce the carbon footprint by bolstering our town's circular economy.

LallyLuckFarm,

It's through a USDA grant, so I think it's something that each U.S. state could do if this kind of program isn't available (yet) where folks are. Maybe I'll try to scrape up some details around it, it seems like a good topic for this /c/

The internal struggle whenever I'm making plant tags (beehaw.org)

We write our plant tags out by hand on discarded vinyl blinds with indelible markers, and there's always the internal debate of whether it's better to be informal and recognizable or technically correct (because writing both gets tiresome). Personally I lean towards accuracy rather than approachability because technically...
