Hello @LewisWorkshop! Is there code for your lighting project (in the current HackSpace) available online anywhere? There are a few things otherwise left as exercises to the reader in the article, that being one of them…

@andypiper hi there! Yes, there should be, not sure why it's not available. I'll find it out for you and put it somewhere downloadable.

@andypiper you can get it from here temporarily: https://drive.google.com/file/d/17CfF0TqYl_HvOdO7o-hBOYmHqi4NJo1t/view?usp=drivesdk

I'll get it linked on the magazine page next week.

@andypiper Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it - as I said in the article, the length I was running was right on the edge of what's practical with that sensor, but a laser TOF sensor should work if you need a long run.

@timonsku @geekmomprojects @stephlahs I found that mounting a headlight to my helmet helped a lot, with a big button on the side to turn it on or off. I also added some forced air to keep the helmet cool and to stop the window (and my glasses) from fogging up. Finally, I added a switch to lock the state (to either dark or light) for doing things like angle grinding, which always used to trip the sensor and darken the glass unexpectedly.

@timonsku yes, but my old fashioned wallet comes with moths and dust in it 😂

Turns out that if you receive an emergency alert while driving, there’s a noise, a huge banner appears on CarPlay that does nothing when tapped (had an arrow implying more), and then it goes away. Oh, and my watch buzzed as well, I guess.

@NotTheLBCGuy @andypiper I didn't get an alert, probably because the government considers me to be the probable cause of the emergency.
