MoLoPoLY,

I have a similar issue but in my case between KDE and Gnome. KDE is much cleaner by display the fonts as Gnome. But I prefer using Gnome, because of the cluttered interface of most KDE applications.

MoLoPoLY,

This is for what I have created a Extension called “SyncMarks”. It’s available for Firefox from AMO. The same exist for all Chromium based browser, including Chromium, Chrome, Edge and a lot more. For Edge its available in the Microsoft Edge Store, all others can sideload the extension. The extension is cross-browser compatible, so that you can sync bookmarks between Firefox and Chromium. As a backend for best results, you can use the PHP based backend for selhosting or any WebDAV as a alternative (not all functions available). Installation of the backend is super easy. You can find everything at Codeberg.

BTW. The PHP backend works as WebApp, so that you can access the bookmarks also, when the extension is not installed, from any browser.

MoLoPoLY,

Maybe… If I use the stable version, it works also sometimes with PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1, but has only 2fps. I can remove this parameter with the dev version and have 45fps.

MoLoPoLY,

Nice. Many thx

MoLoPoLY,

Perfect. I can try it when I’m back from vacation in 3 weeks. Horrible internet connection here in caribes.

MoLoPoLY,

Answering my own question: yes it does. So I discovered some hooks, which report pacnew files and replaced the echo command with notify-send. Worked fine so far…

MoLoPoLY,

By default, according to the RFC 6238 standard, they are generated every 30 seconds. But this time step can manually set to faster intervals. However faster as 30 seconds is not very user friendly. RFC 6238

MoLoPoLY,

Many thx at all. Disabling pre-cache solved the issue for me.

MoLoPoLY,

Hmm sounds like a Webmail client, like Roundcube. Luckily (at least from my point of view) it has no ‘unified inbox’, but you can have as many mail accounts you want, with one login, from different vendors. You can selhost it easily. I use it on a Raspberry Pi with one login and have then access to gmail, yahoo and some other accounts.

To mimic a ‘unified inbox’ you can forward all the different accounts, to one ‘major’ account, so that you receive every mail in this inbox. Than you can create a ‘sending alias’, to answer the incoming mails with the proper SMTP service. Nothing easier than that with Roundcube.

MoLoPoLY,

roundcube.net is the main webside. You can download the complete *.tar.gz file from github.com/roundcube/roundcubemail/releases. Screenshots are at roundcube.net/screens/

Any bookmarking solution?

I need a bookmark syncing service for managing bookmarks Requirements:- 1 Independent (Nextcloud bookmarks are really slow) 2 Web client (Reason of rejecting xbrowsersync) 3 Should be bookmark management ,not read it later 4 Should not be self-hosted or if it is self-hostable then must have some server for free account (I cant...

MoLoPoLY,

Feel free to try my SyncMarks. It’s available for any Desktop browser and can sync across all Browsers. The backend is working as Web GUI.

Backend: codeberg.org/Offerel/SyncMarks-Webapp

Browser Extension: codeberg.org/Offerel/SyncMarks-Extension

I don’t know what happens with manifest v3, because the Mozilla variant is not compatible to Chromium. Maybe I have to use 2 independent branches. But I try to avoid that. Manifest v3 is a big mess of bullsh*t.

But anyway feel free to try it. You are welcome.

MoLoPoLY,

Yes that’s the right way. It works mostly without issues here since some months. Personally I have changed from Droid-ify to F-Droid basic since auto update stopped at some point with Droid-ify where it worked before. I have no idea why. Neo-store has issues in the stable branch with notifications.

MoLoPoLY,

Can you please tell when this will be released, or is there some sort of beta version available, to test this feature?

MoLoPoLY,

Nice. I have subscribed to the beta channel bow. Many thx

  • Eternity, but clicking in an Notification E-Mail on the Lemmy Inbox link, does not open Eternity on the Inbox.
  • Voyager is also fine, but i has strange look on Android, looks more like made for Apple.
  • Jerboa is nice to, but lacks options to change the fonts
  • Sync for Lemmy is nice, but its closed source and has ads (can be removed when you pay enough 20,99€)
  • Some other apps in the Playstore, but most of them are not worth to use them
  • Thunder seems to be nice, but I really miss ‘Mark as read on scroll’ feature, which is very important for me
  • there is ‘Commit for Lemmy’ on the play store, most features I want are there but a) its not available on F-Droid and b) crash from time to time
  • ’Boost for Lemmy’ looks really nice. I couldn’t find a setting for ‘Mark as read on scroll’. Maybe it’s enabled by default. If that’s true, I would keep this app. There is a option to remove ads for 3.59€ which is a fine for me. But I have not seen any ad as of now. Be aware that there are 6 Trackers in this app, but since I use PiHole, it’s not really important for me.

Currently im using mostly Eternity and hope that some bugs get sorted out sooner or later. But Boost would be good next candidate, if ‘Mark as read on scroll’ is supported. Arch f not, the next best alternative is Jerboa.

MoLoPoLY,

Small update to my list: Boost has no ‘Mark as read on scroll’ feature, only some people reqeusting this. But it seems its not planned as of yet. So i tend to keep Infinity.
