NeatNit,

They’re out because your didn’t add AI to the mix

I hate leaf blowers with the passion of 1000 suns.

Everywhere I am there is a guy running a leaf blower. At my house, leaf blowers everywhere all day long. At work, of course, leaf blowers blowing dirt and allergens into the air. It’s such a special noise, it goes through walls and headphones so effectively. They are the most pervasive, annoying things on the planet. I hate...

NeatNit,

I think that’s actually more passion

NeatNit,

This approach is doomed to fail, so long as the general public isn’t aware of the problem or its scale. Government regulation is the only way.

NeatNit,

Yes

NeatNit,

Maybe! There’s kind of a genre of jokes where the setup is quite long but the punchline is just a bad pun. The most extreme example is Nate the Snake. I was kind of going for that feeling, but didn’t go overboard.

I’d be interested to see how you think it could be made shorter. Gotta get the key points across - husband refuses to shower and also refuses to explain what’s happening.

NeatNit, (edited )

Did you entirely rewrite the application and then release the update with the update log: “* Stability improvements related to message sending.” ???

Edit: to cancel out the negative sentiment, good job. I personally don’t really interact with the app enough to notice that it’s changed, but if it needed to be done and you did it right, I commend you! Just seems a bit weird that the “what’s new” message is so bland. Is it even for the most recent version? The release on GitHub has a completely different changelog.

NeatNit,

I’m Israeli and I totally agree, what the actual fuck?

Should I permanently leave Israel?

I’m not sure if this is the right community for this question, but it says “no stupid question” so here goes. I’m an Israeli who now lives in the US, but I am considering permanently residing in the US or elsewhere (perhaps somewhere in Europe or Canada) because I’ve become kinda disillusioned with Israel for a variety...

NeatNit,

It’s not super relevant but Israel doesn’t allow offshore voting, the only way to vote if you live abroad is to physically travel to Israel on voting day. (This doesn’t apply to those on official government business, like ambassadors or navy soldiers or whatnot)

Why do people throw out old motors, bicycles, anything metal into rivers and lakes instead of a junk yard or the trash system?

I have been watching magnet fishing and people love to toss stuff over bridges without a second thought on the environmental impact. Hiding evidence I can almost understand but not lawnmowers, car batteries, etc....

NeatNit,

I think there may actually be some truth to this, but I don’t know nearly enough to say so with any confidence

NeatNit,

is that even a phrase?

NeatNit,

This is mentioned in the linked article:

In the “butt” genre of wild answers, the classic is, of course, the Newlywed Game contestant who answered the prompt, “Where is the weirdest place you’ve made whoopee?” with—you guessed it—“in the ass.”

Unrelatedly, this is another instance mentioned, for which I can’t figure out the correct answer:

A Ken Jennings classic is when the Jeopardy! clue was, “The term for a long-handled gardening tool can also mean an immoral pleasure seeker,” and Jennings answered, “What is a hoe?” (Not wrong!)

Anyone?

NeatNit,

Depends if the kid said “four!” or “four factorial”

NeatNit,

Did she write the “I cheated on my husband” article while still married to him? That’s amazing

NeatNit,

I genuinely can’t tell if this is really the answer google gives or if it’s just fake because this sort of bullshit answers have become a meme. AI doesn’t seem to show up for me (is it region locked?)

NeatNit,

Yes, I was right about it being mass hysteria, but it’s interesting nonetheless

NeatNit,

To be fair, it calls then categories, not genders

NeatNit,

It won’t work with irrational numbers, or transcendental numbers even if you allow things like √2.

But honestly I have no idea what the point of this conversation even is

NeatNit,

“A human being sincere” is a nice little garden-path sentence :)

NeatNit,

I didn’t make any comment about what you’re saying, I saw your point and had nothing to add.

A garden path sentence is one where you read it wrong the first time around and have to backtrack to understand it, for example: the old man the boat.

“a human being” is normally a noun, but then it turns out “being” is actually a verb.

NeatNit,

Trickle down economics works perfectly fine. It’s just that billionaires are subhuman and so are further down than the rest of us.

How did they know [SPOILER] didn't survive in Legend of Korra?

I’ve been rewatching all the old Nickelodeon stuff and something is bothering me. In the legend of Korra, The first season culminates with a standoff between Korra and the season’s big bad, Amon. Ultimately, Amon escapes in a motorboat with his brother Tarrlok, who uses an electric shock glove to ignite the fuel tank and...

NeatNit,

The YouTube channel Overanalyzing Avatar mentioned this too, that Korra should be paranoid and terrified that he might show up at any moment.
