Parts are beginning to come in for the torch manifold!

The two rows of parts here represent the oxy and fuel manifolds respectively from left to right. The fuel manifold has a pair of needle valves for Bunsen burners. I'm going to use cheap aluminum compressed air manifolds to tie everything together. The outlets are only 1.5" apart, so I'll use short pipe nipples to stand off alternating valves so that they're staggered as shown.

I chose pre-made manifolds instead of a bunch of pipe nipples and tee unions because 1) It's cheaper, 2) Fewer opportunities for leaks, 3) The manifolds have mounting holes in them. I'll print something that the manifolds can bolt into and the whole assembly will have a hang hook so I can hang it on the side of my desk, or the lathe, or the O2 machine cart.

Both ends of the aluminum manifolds have 1/2" NPT threads so if I ever need more taps, I can extend the system!

Flashback arrestors, fuel hose compression fittings, and a few other odds and ends should arrive tomorrow. The manifolds are en route but won't get here until this weekend.

Last month I ran out of my SSRI medication for about a week and that turned out to be quite a good week. After going back on, I started to feel pretty grim again, so last week I went off just to see if I would feel better. Sure enough, I am still quite anxious, but my brain seems to work much better. There's a sharpness to the world that wasn't there before, and I feel more capable. I still spend most of my day afraid, but no longer afraid AND hopeless.

I've been taking the same medication for more than 15 years, it's so odd that it's only recently started to disagree with me. It was a miracle drug when I first started it.

Oh well, I'll make an appointment to talk to my psych about this and see about trying something different for my anxiety.

Also, I have much more access to my emotions, which hadn't been a problem until this past year or so. I wonder how long I've been making my situation worse by being more diligent than usual with taking my meds

This video is both fascinating and heartbreaking. If you don't follow Simon, he makes fantastic videos on linguistics. He's in the process of being diagnosed with Coeliac, which was causing him some concerning cognitive issues via folate deficiency. In this video, he describes (quite eloquently) his experiences.

He also goes on to talk about some of the stressful circumstances of his life lately, including the death of his father.

Viewer discretion is advised.
