Idris Elba was a casting that shouldn’t have worked but turned out amazing. Kind of like Will Smith in Aladdin.

I’m a long-term fan. This game brought back a lot of good will for me. Between Dissidia NT, FFVII, and FFXV I was losing a lot of interest in the future of Final Fantasy. I’m glad they could strike some kind of balance with younger fans too.

Bucky got a few impactful scenes. But the story was Sam’s. Aside from that, I thought the ensemble of characters, old and new, was what made the show so amazing. I really want to see more John Walker.

Also, I would be shocked if there wasn’t a scene of Sam just trying to survive Red Hulk.

In the remake. Not the original.

Zombie baby in Dawn of the Dead remake.

28 Days Later when Jim appears absolutely unhinged after killing the captors.

Walking Dead with the barn.

What If…? the moment they realize Vision’s intentions.

Planet Terror, the immediate aftermath of the “lost footage” when everything goes to shit.

Zombieland, BM’s regrets.

Shaun of the Dead, Dianne unsuccessfully fighting the zombie horde.

I would rip my CDs to my PS3 and used it all the time. I used CDs on my PS1 and PS2 all the time too.

I definitely got the urge to play Fallout 3 again.

Whoever actually owns the stock and whoever you sold it to both benefit from the stock increase. Basically, everyone wins except the one shorting.

He Faces Execution. His Lawyers May Have Earned Less Than $4 an Hour. (www.themarshallproject.org)

After [Brian] Dorsey confessed to killing his cousins Sarah and Ben Bonnie with a shotgun in 2006, Missouri paid two lawyers $12,000 each to defend him. If they had worked 3,557 hours — the average time spent by defense lawyers in death penalty cases, according to a 2010 report commissioned by the federal courts — they would...

That headline sounds really weird until you read more. Basically his lawyers were paid one lump sum by the state, incentivizing spending as little time as possible on the case.

The death penalty is in no way helpful to the justice system. Allowing it only gives the government permission to murder. I view it about the same as a gang murder when someone is getting even.

I’m really curious how the majority of cis women feel about this. You’re medically limiting a person’s potential and promising they’ll be competitive but not dominant. I’ve heard there’s no difference, physically. But also that in some cases records have been shattered.

Trans women aren’t these hulking beasts that the right portray. But I can understand people being uncomfortable when athletes are so competitive. But also women, cis and trans, just want to play sports.

I remember a similar (but definitely different) conversation had about a runner with a prosthetic leg too.

Holy shit. They’re literally just saying she’s too good to compete. That’s not even close to a grey area. That’s a cis woman’s female natural body.

I don’t know where I stand on medically inhibited or boosted bodies when it comes to competitive sports. But shit like this makes me just say the fewer restrictions the better and defer to athletes being able to play.

Omegamanthethird,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

I think they mean that trans women are allowed to play with the men. So they’re technically allowed to participate. Even though realistically they can’t, just like any woman can’t play with men 99.999% of the time.

I see nothing wrong with bringing in an alt universe version. It worked with Gamora. You just have to make sure it’s clear that it’s an alternate version and they don’t just replace the original.

He could be their version of Captain America. Call him something like Iron Patriot.

I’m not subscribing to ESPN to watch it like I do for college football. But yesterday the over-the-air game lined up with some free time, and I enjoyed it.

It got me thinking about the potentials for local markets like minor leagues and college already does. I would get ESPN to watch a local team, especially if they had former players from my college or if they might be pulled in for an NFL team.

I saw the Houston Roughnecks vs the DC Defenders. I thought the Roughnecks decked out in Red, White, and Blue was way too pandering. But also, it encourages every team to do the same to pander to the masses. And before you know it, every team is rocking RWB to show how much they love America. Total chaos.

And to make it all worse, they were playing against a team from the Capitol. If anyone should have RWB, it should be the DC Defenders. But they took the high road and chose traditional colors. Fuck the Roughnecks. The Defenders is my team (unless I arbitrarily decide a different team is my team later).

When you do something right, it makes headlines for an hour. When something bad happens, the “liberal” news spends months talking about the Biden administration is failing while somehow never talking about the root cause.

Omegamanthethird,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

I agree in theory. But here’s the problem. We need to pressure the public first. Otherwise it’s a lose-lose for Biden. We need the public to demand it like they demanded Ukraine support. Not just from the activists and progressives, but from the centrists and low-information voters. If you don’t do that, then his best bet is to keep supporting Israel like it’s a surrogate country.

Omegamanthethird,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

“We” is the people who view the situation as genocide. The public is the majority, specifically centrists/moderates/low information voters. Ukraine had overwhelming support from from “the public”. That’s who you have to convince.

And yes, I agree that is part of the problem.

Omegamanthethird,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

I didn’t say you were to the right. But you’re supporting them with your bullshit. Do better.

Omegamanthethird,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

And as long as people like you keep spouting conspiracies, and keep ignoring the progress that the Democratic Party has made in getting more progressive, I’m going to keep saying you’re only helping Republicans.
