SQL_InjectMe,

Only suss because you heard about this story

SQL_InjectMe,

?? What does race have to do with this

SQL_InjectMe,

It kinda is though? I recommend people shop around and find a country that they enjoy, then they won’t mind paying taxes.

SQL_InjectMe,

And they don’t sell Coke or Pepsi just some soft drinks in a beer bottle

SQL_InjectMe,

Very disappointing that this happened in a mostly developed nation.

SQL_InjectMe,

Because a lot of women perpetuate societal standards of toxic masculinity and make men feel unwelcome

SQL_InjectMe,

Personally I think actors and writers are overpaid, but I support their right to strike. I also support the studios avoiding the strike by avoiding all SAG actors and other guilds because like I don’t think they’re that much better than non-union members

SQL_InjectMe,

I do agree that it’s bullshit to pressure actors into signing away their likeness and knew this was a main feature, but SAG is joining the wave that WAG started and I don’t support increasing their residuals. WAG and SAG are basically the cool kids club of landed gentry. I believe people should be able to form unions to pursue self interests, but that doesn’t mean I blindly support every union strike.

Regarding union strikes, I personally don’t get why sanitation workers don’t strike to get a lot more money, they certainly deserve it.

I wish people would write some descriptions for their communities

I often browse /all, come across a post that looks interesting but I have no clue what’s it about, so I check the sidebar - and all I find is “An unofficial Lemmy community for X”, " A place to discuss everything about X", or the best kind, “A continuation of r/X from Reddit”....

SQL_InjectMe,

The community may be of interest to non-diehard fans but did you ever consider that you are of no interest to the community?

SQL_InjectMe,

Two things.

1 - It’s the backyard chicken problem. Yes your mom doesn’t harm them, but when producing at scale people care less about not harming them

2 - Replacing their honey with sugar is not good because it lacks the vitamins and nutrients that honey has. It’s very possible that you don’t take all the honey so they are never harmed by the actions, but when farming at scale people will absolutely push the limit.

SQL_InjectMe,

Replace cow with human and see if it passes the test.

Is it ethical to give a human a scarf? Yes. Well it’s also ethical to give a cow a scarf.

Is it ethical to shoot a human in the head? No? Well it’s also unethical to shoot a cow in the head.

SQL_InjectMe,

I agree with your point that it’s possible but not applicable to 99.9% of people

SQL_InjectMe,

If the spider is in your home without consent I support trapping it and kicking it out.

If the spider or mosquito is trying to bite you, then I support your self defense actions much like if a human was trying to bite your arm you’d be in the right to use force.

SQL_InjectMe,

Wikipedia Foundation actually spends more money giving grants to other projects/orgs than they spend on hosting costs, and that’s still like 20% of their budget!! It’s so crazy

SQL_InjectMe,

This was an exploit in lemmy software and affected multiple instances though

SQL_InjectMe,

Cows don’t photosynthesize they eat a shit ton of plants to make a tiny amount of meat so if you really care about plants you would eat the plants directly and skip the middlemen that waste 90% of the plant matter

SQL_InjectMe,

Yup that’s why I still buy clothes from sweatshops with kids working in them.

In all seriousness you’re right, but I believe people have a much lower tolerance than they think they do, but they just avoid thinking about it

SQL_InjectMe,

Small instances are cheap, so we need a way to prevent 100 bot instances running on the same server from gaming this too

SQL_InjectMe,

I’m going to buy it. All other VR headsets looked meh until this.

SQL_InjectMe,

I mean using the site was entertaining and I would leave comments? If you leave comments then people upvote it. It’s that simple. If you get a comment with 20k upvotes every year then that adds up to 200k. Due to the upvote algorithm I think there’s kinda an exponential curve past 10k but you get my point.
