S: I'm not gonna lie, I feel like crying. Her boyfriend was helping, but they broke up.

M: Let's make a list of what you need & I will get it for you. I will also see what other services I can get for you. Don't worry. I promise we will figure this out.

I pushed myself to go back to work yesterday, but my body rebelled. Today, I stayed home. Tomorrow, I will try again.
It’s different for teachers. When we miss work, we are letting down a bunch of other humans. The guilt is real.

@spitandtears you’re right. I’m not allowed to lift anything over 5 pounds for 4-6 weeks. Abdominal surgery ain’t fun at all!

I have my first surgery scheduled for tomorrow and another on Friday.

Please send good vibes and calm. I’m worried about my students who will be without the stability of my classroom for an entire week.

@LoganFive Thank you! The first surgery ( I had today) was for acute pancreatitis. Tomorrow’s surgery is removal of my gallbladder.

And thank you! It’s hard for adults to adjust to such sudden change, but it’s much more difficult for my “kids”
