I get the joke, but it is kind of a phishing attempt.

Maybe it puts KDE applications first?

Like the firewall thing, might be plasma firewall settings.

DD is the best for 1-1 copying, but I like to use CloneZilla, because it can compress and encrypt the images.

Strit,
@Strit@lemmy.linuxuserspace.show avatar

Can you replicate it? If you can, you can create a bug report. If not, it’s probably a one-time thing where the stars alligned and the conditions where just right for it to happen.

This is a nice addition to their suite of offers. But I am currently using Aegis on Android, which works really well and is also FOSS. So I have no real reason to switch at this point.

Fix for the capslock slow response

This is an issue that I know for a fact that is not specific to plasma, but I came here to ask for help since I run Plasma and I’m hoping that there is something I can change on the DE to fix it. Caps-lock is very slow and causes THis ISsue, and it is driving me crazy. I’m the person who can never learn how to use the shift...

Strit,
@Strit@lemmy.linuxuserspace.show avatar

I’m the person who can never learn how to use the shift to capitalize my letters and use caps-lock religiously.

That is bonkers to me. To me the Shift button is for single or a few characters, while Caps Lock is for full words and sentences. Did you grow up without a Shift key or where is that hatred for the Shift key coming from? ;)

A solution would be to place these movies in a seperate Library and only give your mother access to that library, so it does not show up for you other users.

What happened to glibc-widevine ? (aur.archlinux.org)

I watch the F1 on NowTV. In windows this works fine in Firefox but not in Linux. My research turned up various posts linking to the “widevine” package that depends on “glibc-widevine” but that seems to have disappeared. What happened to it? did it work? where can I get it? is there an alternative?

Strit,
@Strit@lemmy.linuxuserspace.show avatar

Yeah. The PKGBUILD says glibc-widevine is only required for armv7h and aarch64 builds. SO it’s just aurweb that’s displaying it wrong.

Having a release party 4 weeks after the release is weird…

Like Wayland? /sarcasm

Strit,

Yes, but if it’s a broken package it’s usually something wrong in the packaging done by the distribution or the user did something they shouldn’t be doing. I have never seen a package break without me doing something to break it.

Strit,
@Strit@lemmy.linuxuserspace.show avatar

Again, that’s a packaging issue, as the maintainer did not rebuild yum/dnf for against the new python. Aside from rebuilding those packages manually, the user can’t fix that either.

Why are everyone suddenly aware that Neochat is unmaintained. I mean, the last commit was 3 years ago and the last release alsmost 4 years ago. Just because the git repository got archived on a date does not mean that it was maintained up to that point.

Nextcloud has a few options for something like this. PhoneTrack I think the app is called. You install the app on the phone and then connect it with a nextcloud server with the PhoneTrack app installed and setup. Then it would send all that information to your nextcloud instance. I don’t know if you can stop the traffic to googles servers though.

The DNS record for the domain/subdomain needs to be enabled for it before SSL can be applied with Traefik. If it doesn’t resolve, the dns challenge can’t complete. Does regular http connect to it?

Strit,

Moving packages from Testing to Stable in Manjaro repositories has nothing to do with specific dates. It’s on a “when we feel it’s ready” schedule. ;)

My systems generally do send all the feedback to the KDE devs, so I help determine where effort should be put next.

forum.syncthing.net/t/…/2

Syncthing is not a public sharing tool, it’s for your own devices. Perhaps you are trying to fit it to a scenario it’s not made for.

Quote from the maintainer/developer.

If I’m not doing anything fancy and just use it for basic reverse proxy stuff for my docker containers, would I need to change stuff in the configs? Most of the stuff mentioned in the migration guide is about tls.caOptional stuff, which I don’t believe I use.

Strit,
@Strit@lemmy.linuxuserspace.show avatar

Cool. I don’t have any swarm related config stuff.

Strit,
@Strit@lemmy.linuxuserspace.show avatar

As long as it’s not a mandatory switch, I can’t see any issue with this.

Strit,
@Strit@lemmy.linuxuserspace.show avatar

You think? Hardly anyone uses the built-in network stack or the homed thing.

Strit,
@Strit@lemmy.linuxuserspace.show avatar

Not sure why you would need a research paper to figure this out when reproducible.archlinux.org exists…

linux-zen does fail, it’s just not in Core, but in Extra.
