If you're in Berlin and want one of the most exciting bike infrastructure projects to become a reality then check out https://radbahn.berlin
Basically a 9km protected bike lane across the city under the U1/U3. The website has the details and if you have some time, fill out the survey (should be option 3 on the home page). I've tried the pilot track and it's lovely!
Few things give me more Schadenfreude than zipping by a long line of cars stuck in rush hour traffic on a nice bike in perfect weather. Sun in my face, wind in my (very minimal) hair, life is good!
@percederberg I 100% agree. On the positive side, using the average monthly car costs you can probably have your bike stolen every 1-5 months and still be better off financially than the average car owner :P
Bing and related search engines crashed today, because @Techaltar plugged Ecosia so hard in today's video, causing millions to suddenly switch, true story.
The Pixel 8 is the most buggy mainstream Android phone I ever had (my GF uses it and it just bootlooped itself for 20 whole minutes, often freezes, etc.).
Ironically, my Surface Pro 7 is also the most buggy Windows machine I ever owned and the Surface Pro X of my studio mate Kilian is currently unable to turn on, stuck on a boot screen.
You'd think that 1st party hardware would be the most stable, but in my small sample size I've never found that to be the case.
I literally can't think of a major bug on any of my Samsung phones, maybe ever. Never had any real issues on phones from LG, OPPO, Realme, etc. either. My self-built PC I threw together from random components has been working flawlessly. How come the OS makers themselves are this incompetent?
People who use Apple's memojis or similar as profile pictures: I totally get that it's mostly anonymous while still somewhat personal, but ... do you find there is recognizability in it? My brain just subconsciously recognizes it as a memoji but then doesn't bother to look for any features. I never actually remember or recognize them. Is that just me?
@LoneLocust ah OK then, sorry for assuming it. I just saw a memoji in the wild and had this realization that I could have seen it a hundred times and wouldn't have recognized it, which I found odd
The fact that Notion will automatically launch its AI commands (which, afaik, is a paid feature I haven't subscribed to but it's trying to upsell me on) as soon as I press 'space' in an open text field is insane. Not some special character like /, but space!!!
I am making a whole video about why live tiles were kind of doomed to fail, but then every shot looks so pretty especially with those 3D prints that I feel bad for badmouthing it, haha
it came way too late & could never catch up on features & apps
the biggest power plays (UWP apps, continuum, etc. that really leveraged Windows on the desktop) came too late. If W8 and WP8 had shared apps, it might have been different! By W10 the phone project was dying and so was touch on
MS charged brands money when Android was free
it was too different. We techies love a new paradigm & are happy to experiment, but normal users don't
Ironically, if someone misspells my channel name in a press email it makes me more likely to read it because I think the email itself might be at least personally addressed at me rather than just from some spam list
I sometimes feel that no person in the world spends as much time as me searching for product photos. It sometimes takes me over an hour to find a single image that will be used for, like, 2 seconds in a video...
