Longer answer: The access hadn’t been removed yet, as the update that would enable account linking wasn’t pushed yet. As for the Steam side, I’m pretty sure people who already had the game installed should’ve had access still, although updates and general unsureness definitely could be obstacles. With this tweet, however, the update is no longer coming, and were just waiting for Sony/Valve to lift the selling/installing restrictions in those countries.
That’s right, I have heard of some of these cases, but thank you very much for the info! I definitely didn’t want Sony to have any ground to stand on here, so happy that Valve is able to step up to protect consumers however they can.
At the end of the day, you have control over your own actions. You will be the one missing out in HD2, and if you’re ok with that, then so be it.
The funny thing about this is that this community has proven it will not take any bullshit, so you’re doing yourself a disservice by not allowing yourself to be a part of it anymore.
If you enjoy the game, allow yourself to play it again, and if Sony gets up to fuckery, believe in your fellow Divers to drop the bomb on them again.
What’s the bad behaviour we’re accepting right now though?
The game was review bombed to hell and back and people stopped playing because of the behaviour. No one accepted it. Sony now doesn’t have the account linking they wanted, and people not coming back to the game now punishes the Devs because it’s their livelihood too.
You 100% don’t have to play the game again, and it’s a 100% understandable choice, fuck the corpos. But like… You get to have fun, and you support the Devs that work hard to make the content, without feeding your account data to Sony. My perspective shows little to no downside, even considering what benefits Sony.
Memes have become a sort of coping mechanism/method of communication, and it just reflects the the broader state of the world around them.
Places like Lemmy have becomes bastions for people to share their thoughts and opinions, because the overwhelming consensus is the acknowledgment of being helpless and this is a way to vent and share (what should be) obvious solutions to the problems we’re facing.
Sure, we go out and vote and talk to friends and family about the things we can do to make change, but we’re not in the class of people to make that change happen.
So I say fuck it, post away the neo-nilhism memes, I’ll upvote em and laugh away the enormous issues the world has.
It’s insane that a company can miss the point by this much…
Just make a good product, do everything you can to avoid fleecing your player base, and they will come. Then you can add microtransactions that people can buy. You gotta earn that shit through merit of a good game.
Apologies that this is not a pure gaming question, but I’d really like to hear people’s opinion on the Borderlands movie trailer and especially from people who have played the games. That’s why I’m asking here, I hope that’s ok.
It definitely has potential. People gotta remember that when they reach for castings like Kevin Hart as Roland; these are professional actors. If they want something a bit different from that person, they can probably achieve it.
I think we’ll be pleasantly surprised, so long as you keep an open mind that it’s not supposed to be a beat for beat recreation of the games.
If you’d like to try and find a faster way to alienate a neurodivergent person, this is basically it.
My parents still have no clue how to regulate there comments when I mention my difficulties. They love pointing out how “pretty much everyone struggles with getting their real life taken care of.”
Yeah, and I’m sure everyone else also sits there for hours at a time, lamenting themselves for not being able to get up and getting it done. It’s less about the inability to get started, and more about the excruciating guilt you feel when simple tasks take hours of internal bargaining to finally get done.
The point I was trying to make was that, more often than not, it doesn’t matter how transparent and honest you are, a lot of people will never buy into the “I forgot again” excuse because you’re supposed to “learn from your mistakes.”
I’m exactly the same way as you, except it can get a lot more difficult when I add in my constant need to please everyone. It’s almost not worth the effort to be honest when the people you’re talking are not reciprocative of your struggles, even though they claim to acknowledge your illness.
I’m not sure there was any need to be so defensive about it, but it was on me for not properly explaining my thought process. Just trying to have a critical conversation about the problems that plague us.
What’s a good, relaxing PS5 game to while away the time? My ex used The Sims, a lot of people use Animal Crossing. I only have a PC and a PS5, and sometimes it’s nice to cuddle up on the couch under a blanket in this cold weather....
Outer Wilds, 100%. It might be missing the mark a little bit by the end, but it never demands anything more than your curiosity to discover. More than likely, it will make you want to explore every nook and cranny.
And definitely go in completely blind and enjoy the story.
Ninja edit: Outer Wilds is absolutely phenomenal, my comment about it missing the mark is purely based on you looking for a chill game. It is very chill all the way through, until you really start digging in and it wants you to explore everything.
I love the original Hotline Miami but I’m not a big fan of the boss fights like the ones in Neighbors (Biker) and Deadline (Van Driver). I find it kind of slows down the game and limits the strategies you can take....
I’m assuming you have played it, but Doom Eternal takes all of the good from 2016, improves all of it, and adds a whole slew of features that are virtually all positive. That, with a pretty impressive story to boot, DOOM Eternal might be my favorite sequel of all time.
Definitely support this from the eco angle, but given how much you seem to use these bags (100 is a lot, but 6 years is a long time), do you not feel the $15/year is really not a big deal? Over that time, you’ve saved ~$75, which over 6 years… It’s not that much.
Not trying to discredit the method, I’m just curious as to what makes the method work for you!
I would really rather that these were actual examples, and not conspiracy theories. We all have our own unsubstantiated ideas about what shadowy no-gooders are doing, but I’d rather hear about things that are actually happening.
Lmao to that. It almost as if the lies people have spread about how the system is supposed to work has gotten out of hand, so controlling it has become nigh impossible. No wonder the backlash to Gamestop went how it did.
And I know this will sound facetious (just trying to be helpful!), but the phrase “lazze fair” is spelled “laissez-faire”. It originated in 18th century France!
The reasons might be fine, but my opinion is that is whole thing is a little bit… Blown out of proportion.
Just on a couple of your points:
The muscle memory point is very valid, but that boils down to not liking change for changes sake. Muscle memory can always be rewired, and it will take less time than you think it will.
The discrepancy between desktop and mobile has always been there, imo. So many of the desktop features were crammed away into menus and submenus that were hard to use on mobile. With a new mobile-centric design, we may not know where everything is yet, but it’ll likely be easier to access once we get more familiar with it.
The other thing for me is that Discord is the messaging app I prefer, by a long shot. If they see this as an opportunity to add SMS linking to their feature set, and allow users to then also bridge those from the mobile to desktop version, it would solve a lot of communication issues I have, having everything in one place.
Large corporations are, indeed, soulless and thankless. No amount of their pandering to the masses with charity campaigns and outreach programs ever end without them making money.
Knowing this, I prefer to take everything at face value. If I start concerning myself with the ulterior motives of these people that don’t believe in class equality, I will very quickly want to put a lightbulb in my mouth.
For those familiar, Destiny 2 (a video game by Bungie, the originators of the Halo franchise) has come under scrutiny lately due to mass layoffs, and the following PR nightmare it has turned into. With every day that passes, we learn more thanks to the diligent work of journalists doing their job.
I appreciate knowing to help me make informed decisions about who I fiscally support, but I will spend my money on entertainment based on the value it gives me. Not the morals I’m told I should have by people bickering on the internet, and content creators that use these situations as clickbait.
And that all goes for any corp, I’m just largely invested in this one example. I am aware that Nestle is garbage ass company, but due to me not existing in their world view, I will buy a KitKat when I want one, thanks.
I understand what you’re saying, but Christmas is quite literally the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. It very much falls into the “religious” category.
The only thing that it could be besides a Christian holiday is a capitalist holiday. Both of them aren’t great, and should quite frankly be treated as equals if you’re trying to remain neutral.
