Let me tell you my week.

1. 9 year old started physical therapy because of chronic head tilt and pain in her neck.

2. 9 year old had a panic attack in school involving my intervention to help.

3. Had to get a crown put in at the dentist.

4. Colonoscopy prep and procedure.

5. Was gifted a new graphics card for my PC. Installed correctly, it is compatible with my motherboard. We have the proper power supply and the pc has completely shit the bed.

Fuck me. At least I don't have cancer.

Mijn ouder vader z'n bijna 25 jarige autootje is afgekeurd. Hij zei dat terloops, met daarachteraan, en ik misschien ook straks want ik moet binnenkort ook weer gekeurd worden. Het is misschien goed en logisch maar ook zo'n enorm teken van (heel) oud worden... hij is nu een vliegende keep, even 1 van de pubers wegbrengen, de kleine van school halen als wij klem lopen, geniet hij zo van ook... nouja ik zou er een hoop over kunnen zeggen maar ik vind het een ding dus. Oud worden.

Any tips for consoling a four year old who is suddenly very very upset about the idea of death and dying?

We're making it clear he's got a long long long time to be alive yet, as have we, while trying to be real and not tell any fairy stories - but he's very young of course and can't imagine ever being sort of "done" and really really doesn't want to ever die 😭

(Please nothing about climate change etc. in this situation - I'm well aware I've brought a child into a period of change that sucks.)

So I fresh installed OSX Sonoma. And I use a trackball. Have for years.

But no matter whether I toggle Natural Scrolling on or off, they both feel wrong - and I have no idea why, or what my old OSX was set to.

But I've been ping-ponging all morning and every time I go to scroll, I go the wrong way, no matter which I've got it set to.

I have played myself.

Obvs this is literally impossible. But I feel it could be a fun opportunity to prank Neuralink by making a program that places the actual data somewhere else on the hard drive, and just fills the "compressed" file with noise and a hidden reference to where to locate the real data.

Problem, Neuralink wants source, so obfuscation would be needed

Lots of sorry's for not responding right away. Look, I spent last week with my oldest in the ER with a very unusual breathing condition, she starts physical therapy for a severe head tilt, has gone through a major emotionally triggering event and I have an upcoming colonoscopy and dental issue being dealt with this week. It's been A LOT of anxiety!

Our garden is overrun by snails. It's maddening, they're eating all the carefully grown vegetable plants we're trying to cultivate.

Several plants have been completely destroyed by now.

Only today we removed 50 snails!

Someone did the nicest thing in the world and I can not stress enough how thankful I am to them. I live in a bubble. I have no family support, a single in-person friend and no support network. Having to be a full-time parent to a child who is a victim of trauma has been such a challenge that is compounded by being a single income home. We can't afford much and spend almost all of our money on the essentials and bills. 1/
