just interested in hearing peoples stories for how y’all have chosen your new names! doesn’t have to be particularly profound or interesting really, i just like hearing about others experiences....
I can't seem to find anything in a sidebar or sticky thread that talks about the moderation / rules of the news community. I'm very interested in coming to this community to learn about news, but right now it seems whats being posted tends to be relatively low (lower?) quality....
I would like fo the country to be added to the title (or as tags if that exits on lemmy), like [USA], [FR] or [World]. We are an international community so it'd help filter out the news of country you are not interested in.
So now that Lemmy and the community overall are getting a lot of attention, with /c/memes being one of the biggest communities across instances, I think we should be a bit more strict about certain things....
On the readme, creator David Bures says to follow him on socials to get the roadmap of melm, but I have no idea which socials (mastodon feed is just has changelogs mixed with other stuff), and his personal site is not in English....
I've recently decided I don't want to browse youtube via the whole 'recommended' frontpage anymore, I want to switch to a purely subscription-based feed. This means I'll need to use a third party frontend/client, as the official sub box is algorithmic....
youtube does still create a rss feed ^^ To get the url you need to tweak it a little, and some rss feaders even find it by themselves with just the channel link
I found this in an old folder on my previous computer. Unfortunately, I don't have a source to give credit (not my art), but it's cute and i wanted to share

By late this century, according to a study published last month in the journal Nature Sustainability, 3 to 6 billion people, or between a third and a half of humanity, could be trapped outside of that zone [that best supports life]
The said study is linked and says "by 2080-2100" in its abstract
