aBundleOfFerrets,

Tbh the inversion of typical intuition that is LLMs taking orders of magnitudes more memory than computer vision can mess people unfamiliar up on estimates of the hardware required

Why does this happen to some of my games? (slrpnk.net)

title really… got a few games where this oldschool TV error shows instead of the actual main screen, the same happens with Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen. It’s a super weird thing, as before this appears the actual loading screen is present, but this error-image just decides to slowly fade in…?

aBundleOfFerrets,

Have you tried changing channel? Some consoles are on ch3 and some are on ch4

aBundleOfFerrets, (edited )

ffmpeg will be your friend

aBundleOfFerrets,

There isn’t really a shortage of p2p file sharing services

aBundleOfFerrets,

Yes, and I am telling you that you are incorrect to assert that sending someone a file requires a middle man or a thumb drive.

what if the hacker provided the public key for https connection? (www.youtube.com)

So this video explains how https works. What I don’t get is what if a hacker in the middle pretended to be the server and provided me with the box and the public key. wouldn’t he be able to decrypt the message with his private key? I’m not a tech expert, but just curious and trying to learn.

aBundleOfFerrets,

It is trivial for an attacker to make self-signed TLS certs, and you can absolutely just click “continue” on sites that use them when you get a warning from the browser

aBundleOfFerrets,

I am personally using firefox and referencing my own servers that use their own self-signed TLS certs that I have not bothered to load onto my pc because they aren’t public, but chromium-based browsers aren’t some outlier here

aBundleOfFerrets,

Reading the HSTS spec, it doesn’t work on first connection, and while most people are using websites they access more than once, that notably isn’t all web use.

aBundleOfFerrets,

I would personally avoid the pi 5 for desktop computing purely because it only has micro/mini (whatever they call them) HDMI ports, imo they are kinda awful.

Also do note that being an arm device you will be limited on proprietary software and even among foss stuff will likely have to compile some things yourself.

(P.S. you probably don’t mind if you are considering such a device, but PC gaming on arm devices will take much more setup and the performance might be disappointing when using a x86 emulator like FEX)

aBundleOfFerrets,

The other flash chip storing program code for the rp2040 will decay before then making the longevity marketing dumb

aBundleOfFerrets,

A lot of the writing is really, really good. Much better than you would expect given the garbage ai-generated youtube videos would leave you to belive.

aBundleOfFerrets,

Just enable the container tab for private windows

aBundleOfFerrets,

I think it can work better when you put the game in borderless windowed mode and use a third party program to maneuver it
