acceptable_pumpkin,

I mean, of course there’s loaded language in all this. Are you also surprised at the language and rhetoric used by Chinese government and media sources when they talk about the US?

acceptable_pumpkin,

It’s certainly a problem the US government cares about when dealing with a hostile nation (from the US perspective).

acceptable_pumpkin,

If you also enjoy 3D printing, there’s a fun project to make an NFC tag reader with ESPHome. I use it for a jukebox where my playlists are NFC chips with the corresponding Spotify URLs. It lets anyone in the house tap a playlist to play. Much easier than having to get your phone out, and it’s reminiscent of flipping through CDs back in the day.

acceptable_pumpkin,

The deleting local databases seemed to do the trick. I had tried logging out, restarting the app, etc., but none of that had worked.

Thanks!

acceptable_pumpkin,

So that’s what it was! I saw several comments followed by a mod child comment stating “Removed for XYZ reason”, but both parent and child commments were still there.

acceptable_pumpkin,

I’m so looking forward to a CS2 version of TMPE. Lane assignments and getting actual cars for people that don’t respawn or remain invisible will be a game changer.

I hate that the only real traffic I have is from people moving in. Too much of the traffic sim, like other aspects of the game, are all fake.

There was a video where someone deleted every single public transport line in their city and it had no impact to traffic.

What a shame this game fell so far from its potential.

acceptable_pumpkin,

Nice! Did it make a big impact on traffic? For me, one of the most fun aspects is traffic management, and I was really hoping that with all the new features with CS2 it would be even better.

acceptable_pumpkin,

No, it’s people like you who will cause Trump to win. Not the DNC, but people who stupidly throw away their votes or vote Trumpnjust out of spite.

You’re either a shill or completely naive on how the world works.

acceptable_pumpkin,

People like you probably don’t even care about genocide. After all, I don’t see these same “accounts” standing up for Ukraine with such passion. You’re just a stooge who wants Trump to win because you’re a shill, some dumb “burn it all to the ground” idiot, or both.

Lemmy is not immune to trolls, bad fait actors or propaganda - in fact, despite how bad reddit is, a lot of Lemmy instances are worse

I’m done, I’ve been banned for expressing a different opinion (without insulting or personally attacking anyone), I’ve been accused of evading a ban with multiple accounts (this is my only account I’ve ever had on any lemmy instance), I’ve had people selectively ignore my comments and accuse me of things which I never...

acceptable_pumpkin,

There are so many more extreme “leftists” that their beliefs seem to loop all the way around. Lots of people that want to see Trump win because “fuck America”. Lots of tankies that bootlick everything Russia and/or China do.

acceptable_pumpkin,

“GeNoCiDe JoE” is the new Let’s Go Brandon from the same alt-right trolls. I never see you fools criticizing Trump when he literally states he will be a dictator. Know what will happen in the Middle East? Same as now, except American arms and troops will directly be involved.

acceptable_pumpkin,

Agreed, but there are plenty people posting that they can’t vote for Biden because of the situation in Gaza. I get the criticism, and I wish we had a more progressive Democrat candidate, but given the reality of our options, not voting for Biden is akin to supporting Trump. In no reality would a Trump presidency be better for Palestinians, or frankly Americans, the West, etc.

acceptable_pumpkin,

Ok, but back in reality with the voting system in the US, that is exactly what happens. If you can’t comprehend how much worse Trump will be, that’s on you. The national election between Trump and Biden (which is who the candidates will be), not voting for Biden is a vote for Trump. Use whatever logic you’d like, but that is what the actual effect is.

acceptable_pumpkin,

Sure, a Trump win is in the DNC and not the “burn it to the ground” people that are all over the place here on Lemmie, or naive fools. Just remember to keep blaming the DNC when Trump wins and takes away all your rights. That’ll show them.

acceptable_pumpkin,

And don’t forget, these active users and mods need to provide all their identity information. Makes sense on the stock purchasing part, but having real identities tied to profiles… just what their AI models need.

acceptable_pumpkin,

Also a huge reason the GOP is so against student debt forgiveness. Can’t give poor people an option beyond joining the military if they want to go to college.

acceptable_pumpkin,

Then again look what happened to ISIS when the rest of the world finally stepped in for real. While it’s not completely wiped out, ISIS is FAR from where it was at their peak power.

acceptable_pumpkin,

If you’re in the more western states (and even some parts of central) US, In N Out. One of the best quality to price ratio you’ll get.

acceptable_pumpkin,

It’s weird. I love them fresh, but they definitely don’t travel well.

acceptable_pumpkin,

I was just scrolling to add these two movies. Fantastic moves and both in my top movies of all time (as well as Shawshank).

I’d also add In Bruges to a similar list.

Dem Senator Calls Israeli Leadership “War Criminals,” Votes to Send Them $14 Billion Anyway (theintercept.com)

Democratic Sen. Chris Van Hollen, who is a leader in the Democratic foreign policy establishment, gave an extraordinary speech on the Senate floor on Monday night, excoriating the Netanyahu government for deliberately blocking aid to civilians. He and Sen. Jeff Merkley traveled to the Egypt side of the Rafah crossing around five...

acceptable_pumpkin,

Getting out of the theoretical world now, how else do you realistically propose to support Ukraine? Like it or not, unfortunately both parties in the US are very pro-Israel.

acceptable_pumpkin,

That’s where we differ then, since the risk of Russia gaining power in the world is completely unacceptable. Besides the immediate threat to Europe, Russia is responsible for disinformation campaigns across the West and has caused untold damage with Trump and his ilk. To me, that is the greatest danger we need to address and defending Ukraine is top priority.

I wish politicians would unlink unrelated funding programs, but that’s a problem that can’t be solved in the short term. Ideally pressure continues to mount against the Israeli response to the situation in Gaza (as it is doing, albeit too slowly).
