When you get attacked for both of two completely opposing viewpoints, it's not because they're both wrong, it's simply because you can find proponents and opponents of both ends within your viewers.

In a world with billions of people connected to the internet, anything that has a chance of e.g 1 in 2 billion (0.00000005%) that it'll upset someone, it will upset someone out there.

Welcome to the reality of 2024, where there are no wrong and right, no obvious morals, and no PR-friendly answers

Hey everyone! With Windows firmly in the "AI" garbage phase.... What's a good Linux distro to run on a desktop? I absolutely know my way around a terminal of course but I want something easy to maintain for my desktop. And especially I don't want something that pushes snap or flatpack onto me. Everything should by default be a distro package. If I want a containerized app I'll gladly do that myself.

@Doridian I've been using Fedora KDE spin for years now, it hits a good middle between stability, availability of packages, security, polish, and newness, with the Rawhide version being a sorta Arch-like rolling distro with bleeding edge packages if you want that (still pretty stable, been using it for BcacheFS kernels for a while).
Also for what it's worth, my mom has also been using it for years now and it seems to work well for her too 😅

Sigh

Really?

What the fuck?

This is worth bothering to make a meme

@jhwgh1968 tbh nothing wrong with using sqlite for something like that; it's performant, flexible, lightweight, can hold a lot of different data types.. Maybe slightly overkill but I'd rather slightly overkill than underkill heh
