LBT: Both my jiichan (grandpa) and his younger brother were farm workers who developed kidney diseases from dehydration and other problems exacerbated by conditions of farm labor life and lack of labor rights (and lack of basic health knowledge and bodily impact). This is just part of why I support UFW and all farm workers having safer working conditions through labor rights.

I got aggressively beeped at by a BMW driver at a mini roundabout on campus. I was turning right at the mini roundabout having priority over a car to my left (straight in this case as there isn’t a left exit) but the BMW came bolting down from my right expecting to have priority over me even though I was already in the mini roundabout. I really hate drivers like this…they think they have priority all the time and everyone is in their way…

@drmambobob probably, if they considered anything beyond their entitlement to the road, they more likely assumed you were a student?

at least that’s my experience commuting by bicycle on uni campus when folks in higher end cars get impatient with cyclists.

The struggle of trying to explain to monoracial folks that:

a) Interracial relationships do not inherently mean both parties are free of racism,

b) That multiracial children of said couples are not always lovingly accepted by both sides’ relatives or that the relatives will “eventually come around”,

c) That multiracial children are not always raised by being taught about all of their heritages (esp in nurturing ways),

d) That multiracial children are not always accepted by the respective monoracial community members that they share heritage with,
etc. etc.

Folks will say “I’m not racist!” yet they refuse to accept people’s lived experiences that contradict the ideal situations they imagine for interracial relationships and families. You can’t be anti-racist if you don’t believe when people speak of their personal experiences with racism or write it off as a purely individual experience that is an “aberration”. 🥴

Forgot to share this the other day and good thing I took photos of this maple at school when I did because 80% of the leaves were blown away the day after in the wind storm we had. Btw its the same tree in both photos, just different angles.

A view of a Japanese maple tree with bright red and orange leaves as seen near the trunk and looking skyward.

Is it just google or are all search engines basically being rendered useless because the top results are just paid links and LLM word-salad sites parading as information?
