“iPhone 受” doesn’t sound quite right in Chinese tbh, but also, the existence of iPhone 受 (bottom/M) strongly implies the existence of iPhone 攻 (top/S).
This only happens right after I'd be back from said country to even benefit from it.
After I went back from my work trip to Singapore ~last year, QR payment between Malaysia-SG suddenly became compatible. Afterwards I went back from Bali for vacation, QR payment between Malaysia-Indonesia became compatible.
This time I'm set to head to Osaka by the end of this year, Japan's QR payment is set to be compatible with Malaysia's QR payment and other countries the following year in 2025.
The force in this (cashless) chosen one is strong.
I will be boothing at KL illustration Fair 2024 this year. Amongst some other art stuff, I will be selling print versions of "Stirring the Hornet's Nest at Het Thamsya" as well as a preview/early access of my upcoming new adventure module.
So on iOS 17.5 beta 3, #Apple has changed the name for the Pride wallpaper collection to just “Rainbow” and the description to “Inspired by the colors of the rainbow flag” when you change the language to Mainland Simplified Chinese AND Malay.
Strangely, the original name and description is unchanged in Arabic and Russian.
The name & description remains the same if your phone language setting is in English in Malaysia.
@geraineon I remember once having a really good Hamburg steak from a Hainanese Chicken Chop place in Kuala Selangor. The old man that cooked it is probably retired by now.
The pill-box keychain filled with pill-sized dice is going to be on my person all the time. And for "formal occasions" (like gaming conventions) the pendant filled with them will be around my neck and ready for action.
Today on Malaysian sinophone Threads - ppl from other states dissing on KL food, then ppl from JB insisting that KL food is actually fabulous if compared to JB food (which caters to Singaporean tourists with undistinguished palates)
@rakyat@irfan People back then were plenty cynical and aware of corruption, it was the reformasi era after all.
But then again it's hard to beat the cynicism that you develop when you witness all these reformasi types turn into same thing that they were fighting.
Whenever I hear the term "web3" or "web2" being thrown around by someone, I immediately flag them as a boomer cos I never understood what shit that is and I've no urgency to want to know what they mean. The web is the web, is the web to me.
From 2010 to 2017, there was a thing called #AseanCitizen that we Aseans started as a grassroots movement. We were all bloggers from across, well, #ASEAN or South-East Asia.
Some of us joined together to produce one of the best multi-authored regional blogs. We talked about our cultures, write about what makes the region awesome. As well as, try to address the oftentimes silly and sometimes heated debates.
It's all gone now. Forgotten. The blogs dead or offline. We all grew up, got busy with our personal lives, and moved on separately. And the important reason? We lost interest in it as we started to see ASEAN was, is, and will never be for the grassroots.
That was the end of what was once a vibrant grassroot ASEAN Citizens effort. We did it all voluntarily. Without a single recognition from the top-down organisation that is ASEAN.
But today? ASEAN is still a top-down organisation. They kept trying to get the grassroots involved, but they are always failing. Why? Because it is a top-down organisation, as simple as that. They will never understand until they shift their mindset and approach to bottom-up.
(P.S I want to restart this grassroots movement, but I just no longer have the spark. Give me a very good reason why I should give it another chance. Or, at least, guide the new generation.)
@goblin@youronlyone SEAsians are actually a terminally online people, they form some of the biggest most online demographics. But they tend to spend their time on corporate social media and speak their own languages.
@geraineon@rakyat My neighbour's cat was shitting next to where I parked my car. I started harvesting dung beetles from the shit. I must have creeped the cat out, because it stopped after that.
It's a pity, but it was a good source of beetles while it lasted.
