From the dashboard showing the "Percentage of cache hits to all cacheable content over time" for the last 30 days for the website:

A sustained 99.95% cache hit rate.

bagder,
@bagder@mastodon.social avatar

@sahil why? It calculates the rate on a daily basis and plots a line. If that rate is 99.95% every day, that makes the line flat. No variation at all.

@gromit yes, the origin server for sure

We just received a bug report against 7.20.0, released in February 2010.

@ecn and fascinating that it is in fact working at all!

A year ago I clarified my views on the protocol. I have since been told many times that I have misunderstood it. Sure.

@aartaka I don't think "roasting" is a fair description. I think I provided honest and even quite constructive feedback.

@edavies thank you for educating me how URLs work

bagder,
@bagder@mastodon.social avatar

@edavies I did not quote the RFC and I did not use the RFC language in my post because I was talking about how URLs actually work. Not what RFC 3986 says.

URIs are in fact 7 bit ASCII for all practical purposes, so I can't think of any real-world case where a URI character is not an octet.

"URLs" and "IRIs" however...

Would it be useful if provided a default random variable?

Exploring this little idea here. Good? Bad?

@drq I suppose one answer could be:

$ uuidgen
bash: uuidgen: command not found

bagder,
@bagder@mastodon.social avatar

@tokudan I guess you then presume a particular use case for it, which might be right. I'm just brain-storming this based on someone's earlier questions. I don't really know what you would use it for... 😃

@iliazeus I don't know what "proper variable support" means, but curl supports variables properly.

bagder,
@bagder@mastodon.social avatar

@iliazeus yeah, this is just a first shot to brainstorm and extract comments and thoughts. I don't think I've nailed the perfect implementation of it yet.

Three years ago I made the questionable decision to mail stickers to everyone who filled in a form within 24 hours. oboy, that was a lot of work...

@jimfuller I have made sure that making a release is a matter of following the checklist in a public document, and in fact anyone can do that. It's just the signing with my key and the upload credentials to the server that makes it harder for anyone else to do it.

bagder,
@bagder@mastodon.social avatar

@jimfuller I'm not sure I see the value in doing that. We're doing basically that automatically every day as daily snapshots (and we verify it in the CI). We know the scripted making of a release "just works".
