bamboo,

We don’t know who struck first, us or them. But we do know it was us that scorched the sky. At the time, they were dependent on solar power. It was believed they would be unable to survive without an energy source as abundant as the sun.

bamboo,

Has that lawyer never seen My Cousin Vinny? You have to test their vision on the spot during the trial.

“Your honor, if Michael Cohen did in fact work with my client to commit fraud and bypass campaign finance laws, why is he still alive, and not in the bottom of the East River? I rest my case.”

Fun fact, it’s not counterfeiting if the denomination doesn’t exist, so the charge would be theft by deception. In the early 2000s, there were several cases of people using a $200 bill and getting change back on their purchases, and not able to be charged with counterfeiting.

Police in Kentucky are looking for a customer who succeeded in paying for a $2 order at a fast-food restaurant with a phony $200 bill featuring a picture of President George W. Bush and a depiction of the White House with a lawn sign saying, “We like broccoli.”

Authorities say the female cashier at a Dairy Queen in Danville even gave the culprit $198 in real money as change.

bamboo,

Apparently both George Bushs despised broccoli so much, there’s a whole Wikipedia page about it: en.wikipedia.org/…/George_H._W._Bush_broccoli_com…

bamboo,

Watch in 10 years, Filoni will introduce a Jedi who can see into the past and they’ll retcon this guy into the lore.

bamboo,

It baffles me that you can advertise something as “unlimited” and then impose arbitrary limits after the fact. AWS and Google advertise their CDN rates with tiers for certain bandwidth limits. It seems like CF is advertising as “unlimited” and then once you’re fully invested, they pull the bait and switch and say you’re over the limit for that tier. Based on those HackerNews links, it seems systemic and something the FTC should fine them, like they did with AT&T over the same thing.

bamboo,

FTA:

People mocked her on social media for turning to homophobic insults because she couldn’t win the actual argument. Other people pointed out that Boebert isn’t even attending her own son’s court hearings – while making time to attend Donald Trump’s trial in New York – so maybe she shouldn’t be mocking other people’s parenting.

She’s just a horrible human being all the way down

bamboo,

This is why they added non removable batteries in the Gameboy Advance SP and ever since.

bamboo,

If you haven’t seen it, check out The Clone Wars. Quality from episode to episode varies, but overall, it’s highly rated and towards the end of the series it’s some of the best Star Wars content there is. You can find lists online of the best essential episodes to watch.

bamboo,

Although Obi Wan was pretty meh, I think that most of the recent stories set during the Rise of the Empire are the best because the heros are the underdogs and the Empire is such a formidable foe. I think a lot was missed by not exploring the The First Order’s rise, and just that we were introduced to them as the new badies who are just like the empire. I guess Disney is relying on Filoni to fix that after the damage has been done.

bamboo,

I might be misremembering the Clone Wars movie, but didn’t she only appear and become Anakin’s Padawan after the event of AotC?

bamboo,

I just rewatched the scene, and yeah, they do mention she’s a youngling. And then in this scene from one of the later episodes, she’s very young. So yeah between when she joins the Jedi Order and becomes a padawan, there’s lots of time she could have been in the training rooms in the Jedi Temple during the events of AtoC.

bamboo,

I’m surprised he didn’t replace one of the kids in the lightsaber training class with yoda with a young CGI Ahsoka.

bamboo,

Wasn’t Casino Royale the first novel to be published? It might have just been that he was new to writing, and not thinking about movie rights.

bamboo,

Ahh I misread, my bad. Does the book also have the parkour chase sequence?

bamboo,

I imagine that leading up to the election, they don’t want to show a pattern of unsubstantiated false election claims, since that can be used as evidence if later there is a claim by a host or guest which names a company directly that can be used in a lawsuit.

If such a lawsuit were to happen, they can point to this instance and claim that they tried their hardest to stop the unsubstantiated claims (even cutting off the former president), and it’s not a systemic issue in the network.

bamboo,

You should get an award if Newsmax has to cut you off. I imagine it could be a medal made out of coal smeared with shit.

bamboo,

How did anyone think this was a good idea.

bamboo,

I thought $0.50 was low for this math to work out, but turns out 30 million copies of Stardew Valley have been sold, so that’s $15 million, which over 60 years is $250k/year.

Still though I have no clue if $0.50 is normal take home per copy sold for a self published game (it seems low), but I’m very happy he’s doing well for himself and hopes he makes more per copy sold. I’ve bought the game 4 times, so I’m doing my part!
