@sophiajt Mitsume ga Tōru a.k.a. The Three-Eyed One. It's kinda a Mario clone, but the gameplay and graphics are on a different level, the boss fights are very well done. And compared to other NES games it's actually pretty much beatable. I loved playing it so much :ablobcatbongo:

Contrary to legend, #cycling with summer tyres on ice doesn't hurt you: the sudden urge to turn or brake does. Always go straight on at constant velocity and you'll be fine. Show respect to traffic lights: apply the oncoming car's brakes by sternly looking into the driver's eyes. Don't fight nature: if you need to turn right at an intersection downhill, your time's up.

This winter I switched to spiked tires, and they saved me more than a dozen times already!

@ZySoua @drq In the long term, it's much more profitable if a homeless person recovers, finds a job, buys an apartment (e.g. taking mortgage) and starts paying taxes compared to a person who is drunk, causes troubles and requires constant medical attention 🤷

Sure, there are people who are not willing to do anything at all, but their number is smaller than the number of people who had bad luck and just need help and support for a while.

If we remove gender markings, in Barbie Land there are 2 classes: oppressors and oppressed. Through the course of the movie, the oppressed peacefully overthrow the government, but then oppressors infiltrate their ranks, provoke internal conflicts, and using a moment of weakness take the majority in the Parliament and pass a law that enforces the status quo.

Now, the oppressed ones are back to square one and are told to achieve what their had for a brief moment by NORMAL means (while the power is still in the oppressors' hands).

All of this is told like a happy-ending story. Guess the big corporations really don't get the point 🤦

I was looking for this game for YEARS as it was one of my first computer games, and today I've found it :ablobcatattention:

It took so long because: a. it is available only in Russian, and b. the title is misspelled 😄

So apparently Russian Duma (kinda like a Parlament) approved a new law that forbids citizens from participating in foreign nonprofit organizations.

This makes illegal participating in lots of Open Source projects, since usually they are backed by such an organization (e.g. Linux Foundation, Postges Foundation, etc, etc, etc) 🤦🤦🤦

@fasterthanlime I've completed the main story yesterday and it was one of those precious moments when I was staring at the screen with eyes wide open trying to catch my breath and like "Whaaaaooow". Highly recommend it, but it requires a little bit of patience to get through :blobcatthumbsup:

Can you recommend me a typing trainer? I have never learned how to type blindly, and I want to improve my speeds. Monkeytype is cool, but it's more of a testing rig rather than an actual trainer.

I would like to use one that would tell me the fingers to use to type letters. A desired extra would be support for numbers and symbols.

Jokes aside, I used KTouch a lot, it's fairly good. However, for me a typing trainer wasn't the best way to learn. I ended up just typing a lot of random texts, sometimes repeating multiple times a character sequence that caused a hiccup.

And Backblaze is also more expensive than iDrive E2, given that they charge you for outgoing traffic 🧐
