It’s not really important, more like a joke born out of boredom. But now if someone finds my veracrypt usb and manages to crack the first password, they will be trolled a bit and can read this beautiful diary entry (which GPT wrote)

Dear diary, let me tell you, nobody knows cyber security like I do. It’s true. We’ve got the best, the most tremendous cyber security in the world. It’s not even close. Our encryption? It’s so strong, so powerful, even the smartest hackers—very smart people, by the way—they can’t crack it. They try and they try, but they just can’t do it. It’s like trying to break into Fort Knox, but even tougher. Believe me. And DDoS attacks? Please. They’re like little mosquitoes to us. We swat them away without even breaking a sweat. Our firewalls are like this massive, beautiful wall, and I know something about building walls. They’re the biggest, the best. Nothing gets through. Nothing. And phishing? We spot those a mile away. Our people are so alert, so vigilant, it’s like they have a sixth sense for these things. Our antivirus software? It’s like the superhero of software. It’s so advanced, so ahead of its time, that viruses give up. They see our defenses and say, “Nope, not going there. Too tough.” It’s incredible, really. So when I say we have the best cyber security, I’m not exaggerating. It’s not just good, it’s the best. It’s fantastic, folks. Absolutely fantastic.

id really like to use linux, but not before this is working. i dont understand how you linux people can live witout ahk.

birdcat,
@birdcat@lemmy.ml avatar

mostly just abbreviations like

:*:ty-::Thank you very much

I know its possible in linux. but on windows in ahk it takes me seconds to add/remove/deactivate/activate them. and on a good working day do that maybe 20 to 50 times. and they are all in one single file.

i also use it for simple shortcuts or things like

:R*?:ddd:: FormatTime, CurrentDateTime, dd.MM.yy SendInput %CurrentDateTime% return

or stuff like search selected text in search engine X or Y; but if selected in program A, then use search engine Z or open program B and enter it there. but those are the most complicated ones i use and dont need quick changing.

Some ppl should not be allowed to research…

This suggests that guitarists who devote more time to playing chords are more motivated towards casual sex.

🤦

However, when the researchers conducted a multiple regression analysis to see if guitar-practicing habits could predict the number of lifetime sexual partners, the overall model did not show a significant result.

🤦🤦

The findings highlight a potential distinction between mating motivation and actual mating success.

🤦🤦🤦

This discrepancy suggests that while guitar skills might enhance a musician’s mating motivation, they don’t always lead to greater mating success

🤦🤦🤦🤦

They suggest that in the specific context of extreme metal music, guitar playing might be more about asserting dominance and status among male peers, rather than directly influencing mating success.

🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦

birdcat,
@birdcat@lemmy.ml avatar

I’d question the dominance thing as a whole. If you have two male pro metal shredders in a room they will not assert their dominance over the guy who just learned his first chord. Also they will not try to mate anyone… they will just shred until they get tired or kicked out.

lol exactly this. I never even liked those apps or the dev (cuz of the phone thing), but this makes me sympathize with him much more. glad for him.

ppl should stop wining and being very disappointed with this step and develop and maintain their own apps without getting anything back 🙄

goddammit that is so stupid it might actually work! I don’t have a problem with quitting, did it dozens of times, but sooner or later always had the famous “only one cig”.

gonna go for a cigar when that happens next time 👌

  • don’t be too self critical. some people get fucking famous without ever having an original idea or talent or even working hard. Just two days ago I tried to read serotonin by houellebecq, and HOLY SHIT, here I am full of self doubt about every sentence and thought, tormented with the knowledge that I have nothing to say… and this piece of shit gets called a star and genius for his literally unreadable trash??
  • If it really doesn’t work maybe fuck it. I overcame my worst writers block by learning how to play guitar

I’m also in Vietnam and just yesterday got brutally dominated by a Vietnamese corporation! The owners of a small food stall, a young couple, made me such an insanely crazy delicious hủ tíu, i almost fell of my chair.

my taste buds? DOMINATED!

my hunger? DOMINATED!

my knowledge of what hủ tíu actually can be? ANNIHILATED!

and now I’m infested with communism capitalism and will probably go back there tonight…

birdcat,
@birdcat@lemmy.ml avatar

which ones? can you maybe give me the name?

birdcat,

nah, domination of corporations is when millions of people owning their own small businesses.

but butwarden already makes phishing impossible, and even if someone gets the password, they don’t have the 2fa?

birdcat,

but it one would use a security key for the butwarden login, all of thst is pointless, no?

Advice on helping a loved one through alcoholism?

My fiance has been struggling a lot lately with this and it’s taking a toll on me. I’m doing all I can and all I know how to do but it’s getting really hard and exhausting to deal with the constant cycle of abuse and then apology and then abuse and then apology over and over and over again for months. Usually day by day. I...

it does help but more active methods are more effective. cannot find the one i heard about, but it seems to be quite well researched, this is one such study www.rica.nsw.edu.au/…/effective-studying/
