Former #Boulder City Council member and mayoral candidate Bob Yates worked to block his Haitian American colleague from moderating a prominent panel because of her "weak speaking abilities" and got organizers to give the slot to her primary opponent.
Fucking spare me with all the pearl-clutching from the foreign policy “adults” about democratic backsliding in #Mexico because leftists won two elections in a row.
@bkeegan I haven’t read much about it in English. What are you reading?
In Mexico, the reasonable people who didn’t vote for Claudia do raise some valid concerns about proposed changes to the supreme court and the electoral system.
Huge debates on Donald Trump’s #Wikipedia article whether to include “convicted felon” in its opening sentence.
Why does it matter? Wikipedia is among the most important training data for AI models. Expect lots of “anti-woke” grifters to demand that it be kept out of models.
@bkeegan since LLMs are trained with Wikipedia data, should the Wikimedia Foundation try to get a deal with OpenAI to fund its operations? Seems like in their collective best interests.
@andresmh@bkeegan I assume they are working on it, since they’ve been defacto “selling” Wikipedia content (really: enterprise-quality real-time high-volume APIs to the same data) for a while to the other big trainers (Meta, Google, etc.): https://enterprise.wikimedia.com/
@bkeegan the picture in the link is a bit deceiving since the area is actually on Walnut, but I agree. The city shouldn't be subsidizing condo prices downtown at the expense of the public good.
