nerd, weirdo, person, whatever. i enjoy bad puns and you will see them. i also like going off on random tangents about tech, movies, or other random things of interest. fun activities include having mental health and flight simulation.

is Filemaker Pro still around?

at an old uni job we had a buncha stuff in that

the server originally ran on a classic Mac, serving out queries from html forms or something (very slowly)

we replaced it with an XServe, apple's rackmount server running OS X (as was the style at the time), that thing was great

this was g4/g5 days? i was able to do stuff like install the os on the xserve's drive from my powerbook using firewire target disk mode

Any other autistic kin struggle with speech and articulation when they were little?

I'm recording an instructional voice-over today and my mom just told me I used to have a lisp when I was little. That's news to me!

I definitely notice sludgy articulation around L and S sound as an adult. Outside of voice over recording, I could not care less about my articulation. But it is interesting!

@dyani @actuallyautistic i saw a speech therapist for a while when i was little cause i had something funky about my speech, i don't recall the details.

i still have weird breathing patterns wrt spoken speech, though my articulation's much clearer :D i'll just misestimate how much air i'll need and run out partway through a sentence

just realized i've had the mollywhite.net domain for over 10 years(!!)

related sneak peek into an upcoming piece: i firmly believe that if you're going to spend money on one thing online it should be a domain, particularly as online identity gets more fragmented. as platforms come and go, you can always find me there.

@molly0xfff Brooke's corollary: remember if you change your name later you may be stuck maintaining a redirect ;)
