Needed a few days break from it, but working on the sprite editor again this weekend. Added support for layers, so I could separately render and cache the image, selection boundaries, cursor, etc.

Also built the "wand" tool!

Had a thought that maybe I should just keep building this thing and make a Canvas-based Gimp alternative 🤪 but I don't I'm quite foolish enough to go down that road.

I dunno why some people email directly to ask questions or to ask for features for open source projects. GitHub repo has both issues and discussions enabled. It seems kind of like a lot to expect direct email support for a project you pay nothing for.

I think I just sorted it out. Add the "focus" event to a wrapper element, then set contenteditable and call .focus() on the inner element.

Over the years, I've enjoyed being a part of a large dev community on Twitter. It's unfortunate what's happened to Twitter recently, but I don't love what (I think) seems to be happening to that community– a fragmenting between Twitter, Mastodon, BlueSky, and T2.

It feels like each of these fragmented communities is emptier/lonelier as a result.

@thisismissem Hmm 🤔 I guess it's possible that one of the "get params" methods throw before the switch-case sets logEvent to true– but we don't necessarily want to log events for all of those inner cases either.

None of the "get params" methods should actually throw, so I think this is okay even though...I also think you're right.
