cafeinux,

I don’t think the problem is having published it. I think the problem is having had those words pronounced and recorded.

It’s one thing being a racist fascist. It’s another having the gal to admit it in private. It’s a whole other plate to admit it in front of a camera.

cafeinux,

I got a summary out of it, which confirmed I didn’t need to read the article. I see this as a win! But yeah, I tend not to read articles about Trump and talking out of my ass afterwards, mea culpa.

cafeinux,

While reading, I was thinking about the time it took me the last time I installed Linux, and I agreed with the author: it took me several hours.

Then I remembered why it took me so long: I wanted to install the most minimal Void Linux configuration possible with graphical session on a 16 years old laptop that was already too underpowered to run Windows XP when it got out, so I pondered every package installation (do I really need this to make it work? It’s 10 MB, that’s a bit heavy…) and had to tinker a bit with the drivers to get it to work just right.

Installing Fedora on my main laptop however took 15 minutes, from booting to having a functional system, 20 if you count the iso download and the copy on a USB stick.

cafeinux,

I thought it was a tic-tac-toe in 4x4, because then black wins whatever white does, which explains why white tablecroco-flips. I’m not familiar enough with the rules of Othello to exclude this game though.

cafeinux,

That makes sense. I could see myself making a move that delays my victory for one turn just for the sake of annoying my opponent, but in the context of a comic that may be a bit overthought.

cafeinux,

Funnily enough, this equal symbol in the if statement wouldn’t be, in a lot of languages, a comparison symbol but an assignment symbol.

This means that every person would be considered Palestinian, even before determining if they’re Hamas. So even if you correct the else statement, everyone would still die.

cafeinux,

It is actually possible to use Aegis for Steam, that’s what I do. It’s a pain to setup if you’re not rooted (I think you need to use an Android emulator on a computer and then export the Aegis DB to reimport it on your mobile IIRC) but it’s possible. Look at https://github.com/beemdevelopment/Aegis/wiki/Adding-Steam-to-Aegis-from-Steam-Desktop-AuthenticatorSteam is still very welcome to go fuck themselves with their shitty app, though.

cafeinux,

Let’s say, hypothetically, that I’m not a Nintendo spy. Let’s also say that, still hypothetically, I would be interested in, or curious about, maybe, what would have been your first choice. Would you hypothetically tell it to me?

Not talking about pirating anything, btw. Just making hypotheses about a purely imaginary scenario.

cafeinux,

γ is the Greek letter gamma. Those are γ-rays, not y-rays.

cafeinux,

Don’t know how it works there, but where I live, cops can suspect heavily that you’re drunk, but without a positive alcootest they can’t charge you. If you don’t want the alcootest, they send you to the hospital to have a blood analysis. It would have been the best scenario for this woman.

cafeinux,

Sorry to disappoint, a dish washer is “un lave-vaisselle”, which is masculine. A car however is “une voiture”, maybe there’s a joke in there about how manly men love their car more than their gf.

cafeinux,

The word coming french has to do with it in this case. But to be fair, the french changed the spelling of “beefsteak” to “bifteck” to match the spelling with the pronunciation, so feel free to write “rondevoo”, I guess.

cafeinux,

Eivør - Trøllabundin

I have listened to it so much that I know the lyrics perfectly, and it’s even possible my pronunciation is close to correct, yet I don’t speak a word of Faroese.

cafeinux,

It works with 2G, sure, but I’m not sure how it would work on dumb phones: how messages would be decrypted or encrypted on a dumb phone, without that app?

cafeinux,

According to the timestamps, you were 3 hours too late, sorry dude… startrek.website/comment/6045561

Gentle reminder to everyone that support for #windows10 ends in about 90 weeks. Many computers can't upgrade to Win 11 so here are your options:

  1. Continue on Win 10 but with higher security risks.
  2. Buy new and expensive hardware that supports Win11.
  3. Try a beginner friendly #Linux distro like #linuxmint. It only takes about two months to acclimate.

cafeinux,

Just this week I installed W11 on a laptop (temporarily, I just wanted to see how it ran on this hardware), and despite being connected to the it asked me, by default, for a username for the local account. I don’t know why, but it didn’t ask for a MS account first.

cafeinux,

Genuine W11 iso, downloaded directly from MS website a few weeks ago, no modification. It was a Pro version if I remember correctly. I tested it on a 2015 Surface Pro. I was already connected to the network and did not click “Domain join” (I would have if it had asked for a MS account).

cafeinux,

Just an update because I just figured what happened: I booted the iso through Ventoy, and just saw today that by default Ventoy injects register entries to bypass the online account requirement (as well as the hardware checks). Good to know.

cafeinux,

Guess he don’ wanna be an American idiot!

cafeinux,

When I listen to Friends will be Friends from Queen, in the back of my mind I’m still certain that’s from Good Charlotte.
