Please suggest libre/open source tools that allow for the extraction of text and images from scientific pdf documents?

P.S: I'm on a linux machine. Would like something terminal friendly, if possible!

Gentle reminder to everyone that support for #windows10 ends in about 90 weeks. Many computers can't upgrade to Win 11 so here are your options:

1. Continue on Win 10 but with higher security risks.
2. Buy new and expensive hardware that supports Win11.
3. Try a beginner friendly #Linux distro like #linuxmint. It only takes about two months to acclimate.

We're doing sports tomorrow as part of a team building day. Can I appeal to the court of human rights or some sort of humane treatment of prisoners tribunal for being forced to exercise under duress? 😭 I'm so incredibly out of shape since COVID that this is going to really test my physical capabilities.
Also I need to cycle 50 minutes to get there first, and another 50 minutes to get home afterwards.

I'm worried about SNW. First episode is giving off Discovery vibes, in all the wrong ways. Drugged up fight scenes with two humans beating over two dozen klingons? Stakes that are way too high and going rogue on a hunch? And seriously, Spock checking on his GF instead of hailing that ship and de-escalating the situation? Who is this person and why did they put on a Spock costume?

I’ve been using landscape photos from my travels as desktop backgrounds for years now and decided to share with the FediFamily. I’m posting 1 picture per week. This week I'm staying close to home, as there is a fabulous heathland mere kilometers from here that I love to visit on my cycling trips. This picture was taken about a month before peak heather flowering season, I'll try and remember to take a better picture this year.
