Restarting my #SilentSunday #cinemagraph postings, with this happy stream in a huge preserve near my house in the CA East Bay.

A shallow stream of water, flowing from the lower right side to the upper left. A large branch is across most of the stream on the right, creating an area of still water on one side and rapidly-moving water on the other. On the far bank, various tall grasses and trees sway lightly in the breeze. The whole scene is in motion in a loop.

    @rooster like Megan I also thought of “saudade” (I worked closely with a woman from Brazil who introduced me to the term), but I think that’s more about the longing for a place (or person, or state of being) you will likely never return to.

    The two words that come to mind for the build-up of history and memories in a space that imbues a home with more meaning than just four walls and a roof are probably “hallowed” and “consecrated” though the latter has too many overtones of religion and death, I think. This is probably a rhetorical question though? Either way, I know what you mean.
