Just because it recently came up again, if you run a Pleroma/Akkoma server and have NOT adjusted your postgresql configuration, you WILL run into performance issues after a certain database size.
@lain they did that in vietnam and it only got the number down to ~40% (of which they constitute 1% of the population)
«affirmative action» in malaysia on the other hand means that the malaysian chinese startup founder is now a singaporean citizen
smh i would love to get a copy of The Malay Dilemma now ngl would be an interesting read
@lain@kaia@mstarace yeah that’s nice and all but based on the Grug Institute’s CPI metrics (which takes into account stuff like rock and cave paint prices), inflation p.a. since the end of the stone age has been 2% thus bezos would have lost a considerable amount of money instead of holding it in something like shiny rock ore
Well, "told you so" is all I can say. Notice how they want free workers as much or more than conscripts for the most part. Someone has to pay for all those immigrants. Food and board as you work to keep them in the hotels seems fair and just. Keep supporting commies as lose property rights as you become slaves. This is what you wanted. :shrugz:
@lain@thendrix the usual rationale here is that the state already provided you with a plethora of privileges and luxuries, so it’s about doing your part(tm)
i mean i get to benefit as well from the (perceived) political stability and thus all the other things that come with it as a result :02lurk:
> A job posting that included race and citizenship requirements — and the stipulation, “Don’t share with candidates” — has resulted in settlement agreements between Virginia-based IT staffing firm Arthur Grand Technologies Inc. and the U.S. government.
> Under the arrangement, Arthur Grand will pay a civil penalty of $7,500, along with a total of $31,000 to 31 people who complained about the posting. The company — which is minority-owned and a federal contractor designated a disadvantaged business — will also be monitored to ensure compliance with anti-discrimination laws.
> Arthur Grand “neither admits nor denies any violation,” the Department of Labor’s agreement states. But in a message to NPR, Arthur Grand CEO Sheik Rahmathullah said his company "vehemently denies any guilt or wrongdoing." The job posting was made by a rogue employee, he said.

@lain reading the article, it sounds like a sure fire way to get alot of germans to surrender their citizenship; even the usa and irs have a foreign income exclusion clause of roughly $100k…
