I recently did some research on this stuff for a school project and found pretty much the same thing. Also came across Houston as an example of a city where zoning is mixed and the laws are very loose, and it seems to work itself out just fine.

Right now I’m using a small plastic hook that came with a face mask to keep it off the floor, but I’d like to hear other solutions.
What hardiness zone are you in, and have you ever had a paw paw fruit, by any chance? Because if it grows in your area, I highly recommend it. It’s the most tropical-tasting native Midwest fruit I’ve ever had.
